It's snowing hard at the moment and it's so beautiful! Even better is the fact that I don't have to go anywhere today. Looks like a good day to make some chicken noodle soup and apple bread.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful day. 24 hours for all of us please...

The snow is so beautiful here too, Jude. And I don't have to be anywhere today either. Perfect.

Ginger, I'm scratching my head over your post yesterday. All it said was "41". Very cryptic.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good morning cafe. Dill, I am guessing that Gingers message of 41 was the temperature as we were all talking about it. The snow sounds beautiful and so does soup and bread! It was too cold here yesterday so I started watching Yellowstone season 5. I am already hooked. LOL. Nothing much happening here today which is a good thing. Hope everyone has a good and sober Friday! 24 more please and thank you.

The snow does make things look so much brighter and clean, and I don't mind shoveling when it's not too cold out. I had to shovel yesterday afternoon and have to shovel again this morning but I'll be dressing up nice and warm as its -20C (-5F) here this morning. We have a heavy snowfall warning in effect for tonight and all day tomorrow with 8 - 10" of snow expected. Adam and I decided no hunting this weekend with the forecast the way it is, don't want him driving out from Sherwood Park in that heavy snowfall.

41 lol... was the first of my post. Not sure how I managed to delete all the rest before I hit post! Hard to believe I worked in technology! Bahaaaaa

That's a lot of snow, ABC. Please be careful and dont over do.

Got out and walked the desert for 2 miles yesterday. Knee held up. So far so good. I'll take another day of freedom!

wow that's cold. It got down to 5 in the daytime here the other day, and it felt cold to me (winter is coming), I guess I'm spoiled haha. Now we're back up to 12C, practically summer (though was windy today, and we did have a bomb cyclone move through a couple days ago).

Enjoy the snow everyone! I'm heading out to Hope next week, so will probably be getting some (and doing some shoveling) before long as well.

The info about coconut oil posted above was interesting. It's funny how these things are constantly changing, it used to be cholesterol = bad, saturated fat (ie eggs etc.) = bad... and now it's apparent that it's far more nuanced and complicated than that, and the science is constantly evolving. Especially damning is the fact that trans fats were in virtually every product for decades and that is actually by far the worst fat for you (far worse than natural saturated fats for example).

Yikes cowboy, that's a lot of snow and cold, better keep your shovel handy!

Ginger, I had the same problem with disappearing posts a few days ago. Whenever I went to post only 1 sentence showed up. I haven't had any trouble since.

Looking forward to another 24 hours of serenity...

I heard about that bomb cyclone a few days ago, Mul. Glad you got through it ok. Enjoy your foray into Hope.

That's too cold for me, Cowboy! I was whining about the temps we were having but we just got down to freezing, briefly. It will take time to get used to the cold, but we do it every year, so my guess is we will adjust. This too shall pass.

We have our Thanksgiving this week in the US. We will celebrate in our usual way with turkey, stuffing and pumpkin pie, Our son and his kids at the table. I find myself missing my daughter and her son more lately but travel is just too difficult and we did get to see her briefly last summer.

Hello Rava, I slipped some coconut flakes into our coleslaw a couple of nights ago and I loved it! I didn't put enough in.

Ginger, I wonder what was going on with the site that affected you and Jude's posts. Thanks for the explanation about the cryptic post.

I think I'll get to the store this morning and get the rest of the fixings I'll need for Thanksgiving. It will be a good day not to drink.

Enjoy the trip out to Hope Mulburry, even if it means a little exercise with a shovel lol.

Is Thanksgiving this coming Thursday for you guys dill? It means a 4 day weekend because of Black Friday? I miss our 3 girls as well, but at least we get to see them all at least once a year.

Glad your knee held up okay Ginger, at least you can get out and about and do some exploring. Have you tried golfing yet?

We have a winter wonderland outside this morning so my first date with the shovel will be right after breakfast. I'll probably go out a few times today so that it doesn't all accumulate at once.

No golfing yet. Need to hit the driving range first to see if that twist gives me issues.

Mul, you're so right about changes in health science. Moderation and as unprocessed as possible is a good guideline. Enjoy your time in Hope. Are you a remote worker? Just curious

Dill, I need to get to the store today too but I'm dreading it like a tooth ache. Lol I better buck up. It must be done!

Waves to all my pals! I'll take another day of freedom.

Good morning Cafe. Its the weekend not that it matter to me since retirement. It just makes me more lazy than weekday mornings. LOL. It was 50 here this morning and I had to break down and turn the heat on for a little bit. I am thankful to be up on a Saturday morning not hungover like in the past. How do people that are older in life recover from a heavy night of drinking. It’s hard enough just waking up feeling good physically. Well I hope you folks with cold temps and snow have a good weekend, stay warm and be careful shoveling. Ginger, glad that knee is holding up. Hi to Cowboy, Dill, Mul and Jude!

We got really lucky here in Vancouver proper, not much damage or power outages; and it hit in the night so I barely even noticed. Vancouver Island got really ravaged though, some of the highest wind speeds ever recorded, and lot's of trees falling on roads, houses etc. Apparently a few people were killed in Washington as well.

Happy Turkey Day to all of you Southerners!
