Seems like QW was planning for his annual vacation in Mexico right about now when he was still posting with us. Ginger, I hope you find something out, something good. Ha! that reminds me of a book I read about 10 years ago called, Somewhere Safe With Somebody Good. It was part of the Mitford series by Jan Karon. I enjoyed that series.

We don't have a Costco close. I'd have to drive about 20 miles on country roads. It's not worth it in the dark during deer season! LOL

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

In Vancouer I always found between 5 and 6pm on weekdays was the worst time to hit the grocery (or liquor haha) stores as it was the "grabbing some things on my way home from work" time.

Speaking of (Cowboy's missed) deer... I spotted a couple Black Tales out on my hike today, I know they're around but haven't seen any out hiking in quite a while so that was cool.

Good morning friends! It's a cold morning and we are expecting a winter storm this afternoon with lots of snow and wind. I have to work until 2:00pm , so I hope that it doesn't get too bad before I get home.

We were supposed to go to S. Carolina over Christmas to visit Mr. J's son, but they had a huge argument so I don't think that we're still going. Hope that they can patch things up, but they are alike in so many ways and argue frequently. This is not what the holidays should be like but I guess that's just the reality of things in relationships. It makes me sad, but I will not drink over it.

Ginger, hope that your knee is doing better today, but it sounds as though you need to take it easy for awhile. Easier said than done.

24 more for all of us please...

Mul, we only have white tail in our area. I came upon a small herd (12-15) of them a couple of days ago when I was out giving the dog a run. She was in dog heaven chasing them!

Jude, sorry your plans got derailed and I hope Mr. J and his son work things out after they cool down.

I'm taking Lily to the vet today to have a tooth looked at. She seems to have broken it. I don't know what the vet can do or even if anything needs to be done, but I want it checked. Better safe than sorry.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, hope that knee gets better soon! Hope you can stay off it for a bit but that’s got to be hard to do! Jude, I am sorry about your holiday plans. Hope they can work out their issues. Dill good luck with Lily today. Hi to Mul and Cowboy. It’s 45 here this morning which is probably like a summer day to you guys but it’s freezing by Florida standards. LOL. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

5:19am in Alberta, I'll have another 24 please, and thanks...

That knee seems to keep giving you problems Ginger, even everyday things seem to cause problems with it. Did the swelling go down at least?

We have mule and white tail deer in our area Mulburry, as well as moose and elk. Don't think I've ever seen a black tale.

Does the broken tooth seem to bother Lily dill? No sense adding extra vet costs if it doesn't need to be removed.

Hope you get home before the snow hits Jude, we're supposed to get snow here today as well but no where near the amount you'll probably get. Maybe calmer heads will prevail between Mr J and his son and you'll still be able to spend Christmas with them.

We were almost the same temp as you Rava, it got up to 6C (43F) here yesterday, a beautiful November temp. Warm enough that I did a couple of beef steaks on the wood pellet grill last night for supper. Unfortunately the warm weather only lasted one day as it's back down to -14C (7F) this morning but warm weather is in the forecast for the weekend and into next week.

Jude, I hope Mr J and his son can work things out. Life is so short. I also hope you get home ahead of that snow! Yikes

Lost most of my post so I'll leave it right here. I'll take another day of freedom!

That's the exact temperature (7C) that we've been getting the last few days, but in the glorious sunshine it feels almost summery; heck I rolled up my pant legs and took my jacket off a bit on my hike today when I was warmed up from climbing and hit a nice sunny stretch!

Same where I grew up in the interior of BC, so I was surprised to see them when I first saw deer down here, but I guess they are common close to the coast.

Hope your knee gets better Ginger999, that sounds very unpleasant, especially for a fellow hiker.

Good morning cafe! I woke up at 1:30 this morning which is early even for me. I just couldn't get back to sleep so here I am.

Please join me for another 24 hours of peace...

Jude, what the heck?! You may need a nap today sometime.

Cowboy, the vet recommended the tooth be extracted as it was badly broken and the "pulp" was exposed. Apparently it can become infected. The vet said the tooth probably hurts her when pressure is applied but generally she was probably ok. She said she could make a referral to a canine dentist if I wanted to pursue a root canal and crown, but she said most people opt for abstraction bc it is one of her canines and it is not necessary for chewing. She won't miss it. Poor pup!! But she'll be ok. I like this vet. I tried a different practice today because I was becoming dissatisfied with our regular vet. I really liked this vet and the staff there and the cost seemed much more reasonable than the other practice. I looked up info about canine root canal and the article I read said typically it would cost between $1500-3000 and could actually go as high as $6000, depending. That's eye-popping! The success rate for the procedure is 69%. The extraction will cost between $250-350. I hate that she has to lose that tooth, and I wish I knew what caused the damage! It wasn't there when we took her for her annual check up in October.

Ginger, I hope your knee is settling down and you are getting around alright. I imagine it is very frustrating having all these setbacks.

Rava, 45 sounds wonderful to me. We have been at freezing or below for a week now. We might see some more moderate temps this weekend, but today will be be cold, windy and snowy. Bet you don't miss that!

                        Waves to you Mulburry!

24 more please and thank you.

Yep Jude, you're definitely going to need a nap sometime today, 1:30 is way to early to be getting up.

That's not too bad for the tooth extraction dill, I'd probably go that route as well.

I've got a date with the snow shovel this morning but it looks like only a couple of inches so I don't mind getting out and getting some exercise since it warmed up through the night.

Waves to the rest of the gang!

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, I hope that knee swelling is better today. Dill, I would definitely do extraction I would hate spending 3,000 on a dogs tooth. Heck, I hate spending that kind of money on my own teeth. Jude I was up at 1 am too but laid there until I fell back asleep. Hope those getting snow don’t get too much. Mul, 45 is so cold to me that I had my little heater plugged in while I was reading today. Cowboy, hope your shoveling is brief today! Hope everyone has a wonderful day. Mr. R and I are driving down to the Everglades today looking for some alligators! 24 more please and thank you!

Dill, critters can live happily with no teeth at all so Lily will be fine without that canine. Root canal on a dog?! That's somebody with more money than they know what to do with! Lol

Jude, that's way toooooo early to be up. I hope there's a nap in your future!

Hi,, Mul. I love that you can get out regularly for hikes!

ABC, happy shoveling! Sometimes I miss snow but that passes quickly.

Hi, Rava! Let's just enjoy our warm weather.
