Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

It's great to hear from you techie, and look forward to seeing more of you in the new year.
Not sure if Ginger has heard back from the support team or not Jude, hopefully they can come up with a solution.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Good morning Cafe. We are at 15 degrees here. Looking forward to going back south in another week. Luckily our tiny house soaks in a lot of sunshine which really helps to warm it up during the day. 1 of the grands tested positive for the flu so we are down a family. It’s always something this time of year. Wishing everyone a wonderful day. 24 more please and thank you.

techie, thank you for checking in! I was worried about your health. Im glad it wasnt that. Enjoy your adventures but stop by and say "heh" more often so we know you are well! Now, if we could hear from QW!
The problem with posting is in tech support's hands now. I'm sure it's a quick fix!
Brrrr, Rava. That must be a real shock to your system. Sorry to hear you're down a family. Such a bummer time of year to be sick.
I'm back to yoga today. I'll be careful! Waves to all my buddies. I'll take another day of freedom!

Great to hear from you Techie and I look forward to hearing more from you in 2025! Your name has come up here a few times recently so your ears must have been burning.
We're headed south to meet up with Mr. D's brother and wife for a holiday luncheon. I had lots to do this morning so posting time is limited.
24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.
Dill

Good morning Cafe and Happy Christmas Eve. I am making a cheesecake today. Little worried about tonight where the booze will be flowing freely. I am planning on drinking sparkling ginger ale. Will try to watch everyone else and play the tape forward. Last year this time, I completely derailed. I don’t want that to happen again. Hope everyone has a wonderful day. 24 more please and thank you.

Hopefully your grandson will be over the flu soon Rava and you'll at least get to see him before you head back.
I'll bet you enjoyed the visit with your family dill even if it was a short visit.
You wouldn't think yoga would be hard on your knee Ginger but I presume you took it easy anyway.
Hopefully the support people will get things resolved know that they are aware of the problem Jude.Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...

Rava, I will send you positive thoughts and "vibes" as they used to say. I know it will be tricky, but you can do it!
I am hanging my own head in shame today. Reason: I keep wine out of my house because if it is here, I will drink it. Unfortunately for me, SIL gave me a bottle of wine in a basket filled with goodies. I snapped. Suddenly, it was here in the house, and I succumbed. I am grateful that it was a low alc content variety, and I don't have a hangover or anything. Just the shame and remorse. SIL does not know that I struggle with al. It's not something I share with many people. So she did not think she was doing any harm giving that to me, because I keep my drinking problem secret. She couldn't have known. I know I should be more open about things. But I don't want it to be s way people define me. I wonder if anyone here knows what I mean or feels the same way.
Anywhoo, I'm here and recommitting. 24 more for all of us please.
Dill

Merry Christmas Cafe friends!
Even though I check in infrequently, I often think about you guys and hope everyone is doing well.
Today is Day 2,128 for me, something I never imagined happening. The Cafe played a huge part in this! Thank you everyone for being there.
Mrs QW and I are doing OK. Her Parkinson’s is progressing. We had an in-home assessment done in the spring and some changes were made. She has a personal support worker help her get her days started. She was fitted for a walker which she uses when walking outdoors. To help us with age in place plans, we had a step in, sit down tub installed in the main bathroom.
My broken collar bone and torn rotator cuff took longer to heal and is about 90% of what it used to be. To help prevent any more falls I use walking sticks when I go out.
Sadly our travelling days are over. I’m missing Mexico!
Anyway, I wanted to drop in, say hi, wish everyone who celebrates a Merry Christmas and pass on my best wishes for a happy, healthy, AF 2025!
