Amen to not complaining. Such devastation. Unimaginable!

I'm going to hop on the non complaining train as well! Whenever I hear about disasters such as the one in California, it really makes me grateful for everything that I have.

I'm in for another 24 hours of sanity...

5:23am in Alberta, another 24 for me please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

I'm in total agreement, we have so much to be grateful for especially when we look at what's happening not just with the fires, but all over the world. My prayers go out to everyone involved or affected by the fires and other tragedies.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

It does seem kind of unimaginable to have such devastating fires right in the middle of winter, but apparently that area hasn't had a drop of rain in like 8 months so not entirely shocking. As much as I complain about the rain, I'm very thankful we have enough dampness up herein the PNW to keep our fire season limited to a few months (usually- fingers crossed).
I do find it a bit ironic though, that while everyone watches LA burn, you have a climate change denier for a President and we're about to have a big oil/fossil fuel Prime Minister win in a landslide. It's almost like climate action was just a fad that people are over now... and meanwhile the world burns.

The temps have been just above freezing here for the last day or so and it's been raining, sure wish I could send it down south California way.

When we get lots of rain in the summer most people say "at least we don't have to shovel it" lol, but I'd sooner shovel snow in the winter than have to deal with the ice that the rain creates when the temps fall again.

More than grateful here to be blanketed in snow here. Much better than smoke!

                                Some say the world will end in fire;
                                Some say in ice.
From what I've tasted of desire
I hold with those who favor fire.
But if it had to perish twice,
I think I know enough of hate
To know that for destruction ice
                                Is also great
                                And would suffice.

I just revisited "The Right Stuff", (1983) a movie about the Mercury 7 project. It was a really great movie, IMO. I suppose most of us here have watched it a while back. It's worth another look though if your'e looking for something to pass a long, dark winter evening.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.
