5:25am in Alberta, I'll have 24 more please, and thanks...

In the last 24 hours, these friends have joined in for 24 hours of wellness:
    Jude58 Rava Ginger999 Slo

Today is going to be a darn good day not to drink!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

It's a bit warmer here as well Jude, not quite warm enough to use the smoker grill yet, but maybe later in the week. I'll join in with you on not drinking today!

Enjoy the swim meet Rava! My full size Ford truck won't fit in the garage here either so I think my next truck will be a Ranger. I like the 4 wheel drive feature instead of the all wheel drive in the Maverick. Although I wouldn't mind getting a hybrid, it's not available in the Ranger, at least not yet anyway.

      Have a great weekend y'all!

I guess I didn't post yesterday. I did write a post but must have missed the step of clicking on the 'post reply' button. I had a long day as I drove my friend to a medical appointment an hour away.

Mul, I hope you get well fast. I too am curious about Slo's experiences about PN.

Slo, I was on lexapro years back and I never really felt it was helping me. In addition, it seemed to coincide with weight gain so I think it may've been causal. Anyway, I went off of it, but did it without doctor's guidance and oh my! That was a mistake. Definitely one I will not repeat. Tapering would have been the better choice for certain!

Jude, we are going to be in the 30s today! It's going to feel like Spring.

Ginger, how's your sister doing with her home sickness? Is she over it?

Cowboy, how is Adam's cabin project coming along? Have they been able to do any interior construction/finishing thru the winter months?

Yes! to another day of freedom.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Good morning Cafe. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. Slo, hope to hear more about your therapy session. Cowboy, hope you get that smoker working soon! I could use some red meat. Hi to everyone on here! 24 more please and thank you!

Slo, glad your appt went well and you got a good night's sleep! Enjoy your daughter's swim meet.

Sister leaves on 2/1, that's a couple weeks early. Her dr called yesterday with a referral she's been waiting months for. Her appt is 2/4. I'm so glad she finally gets to see the cardiologist but sad she has to leave so soon.

Nothing to drink over though!! I'll take another day of freedom

Yup, it's always best to taper off anything you've been taking for a while, I've learned that the hard way a few times. It took me over 6 months to taper off of Pantoprazole (for acid reflux) to make it relatively painless (I tried a month at first and that was hell). I would imagine anti-depressants could be ultra nasty, messing with your brain chemistry and all.

I’m home now! Young Daughter had a good swim meet. She did very well in swimming the mile.

My brother made the best brisket for us on his smoker for Christmas dinner. Delicious!

Many of the people I know who got sick in December & January have gotten very sick with lengthy illnesses. Hope that’s not you, Mulberry!

My peripheral neuropathy seems to be caused by nerve damage in my low back combined with a knee replacement revision that left one leg longer than the other, that has left me crooked. And now I’m in severe PN. Numb hands and feet, some tingling, pain in the knee replacement knee; pain in the other foot that I have to wear the built-up sole on in order to compensate.

They’re saying now that the SSRI antidepressants aren’t that effective long term anyways, so I’m finally getting off this Lexapro that I’ve been on for decades. Good for you for dropping it years ago, Dill. Bet you got some brain zaps though, with the abrupt discontinuation!

I joined you in 24 hours of freedom, Jude!

Good morning cafe! Looks like I'm a tad early for breakfast; the chickens probably haven't even layed the eggs yet.

Yesterday was one of those screwed up days where nothing seems to go right. I was having a little pity party for myself and of course that made my problems seem worse. I've found that if I think about everything that I'm grateful for when I am troubled, my problems become much more manageable.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful, sober day!

24 more please and thank you!

Jude, I hope you have smoother sailing today! Good for you taking the positive approach and looking for things to be grateful for.

Slo and Mul, yes the brain zaps were horrendous. I even experience hallucinations. As I say, I'll never do anything like that ever again! Slo, thanks for the description of you PN and it's causes. I have mild PN related to degenerative disc disease.

Rava, my brother who lives on the pan handle had temps below freezing and snow! It was sad to see a grown man cry....LOL! Did you do ok through that cold snap?

                    Hi Cowboy and Ginger.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good morning Cafe. Hope the temps are warming up for those up north! Ginger, I bet your sister is looking forward to seeing her doctor but not leaving you. You guys are lucky to spend that time together. I am wondering if breakfast is being delayed due to the cost of eggs??? Hope everyone has a good Sunday. 24 more please and thank you.

Jude, it looks like you were up even before the chickens, never mind laying the eggs lol

Everything at the grocery store seems to have gotten so expensive Rava, I can't believe the cost of beef products!

Waving to the rest of the gang, have a peaceful Sunday y'all!
