I have a few relatives that are slow to respond to messages or texts, even to reply to voicemail. It's frustrating sometimes, but it is what it is. I'm not sure they understand that causes worry on the sender's part.

Not much new happening around here, took a drive out to the farm yesterday and looks like I'll have to give Corey a call and see if he can stop in and clean the lane next time he's by with the tractor and snowplow, I needed 4 wheel drive to get in and out lol.

      Have a great day y'all!

Good morning Cafe. Ginger, thanks for the tip about the cat litter box. I will pass it along. No signs of her yet. We live in a condo with many homes and I wonder if that confused her or the fact that something has already gotten to her like a bobcat. Slo, I am sorry about your daughter and sister. I am reading a book by Mel Robbins called Let Them. It’s all about how to stop wasting energy on things you can’t control. I am finding it helpful, you may too. We are riding our bikes today to our local park which just opened after all the hurricane damage. It’s a beautiful park and basically the reason we bought our condo so close to it. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Rava, thanks for the book suggestion. When I searched for it, I found the author also has started a podcast. I'll listen to them today, if time permits.

Slo, I'm so sorry about your visit "fail". That totally sucks and seems like it was purposeful on your daughter's part. Peanut butter cups are way better than a bottle of wine! Thinking about you!

My son and his family are in Costa Rica for 10 days. The pictures are stunning. This is their third trip and they are looking at places to buy this time. I totally support that idea!

We took a long drive in the desert yesterday testing the hybrid out. It did great. Averaged almost 37 miles to the gallon. Not bad!

Not much going on around here today. Temps in the 80s and full sun. Hoping to get out back for a short hike. We are so blessed! I'll happily take this day AF!

Rava, I'll have to look into that book you mentioned as I often have trouble dealing with things that I can't control.

Not much planned for today so maybe I can catch up on my knitting, which is a good way of relaxing without the booze.

24 more for all of us please...

Thank you for the book mention, Rava. Like Ginger, I am going to listen to him on a podcast later today. I am interested to hear his theory. I have gotten pretty good over the years at "live and let live", but it never hurts to hear more ideas that can help one deal with situations not in one's control. I hope your neighbor's cat finds it's way home. It's always hard when a pet disappears. We have had that happen with our Pumpkin a couple of times but both times he came back after a week or so. One time he came back in such ragged shape that I really wondered what he'd been through! He's doing great presently. We have had cats that did not return though. Always sad.

I'm sitting right here and waiting for breakfast this morning!

24 more for all of us here, please.

Good morning Cafe. Glad some of you are looking into the book/podcast. I see her all over the internet and thats how I got the book. No cat yet so I am thinking it’s a done deal. I slipped up yesterday. I am up early this morning. Dumped out the remaining wine and starting the day alcohol free. We are going to a Super Bowl party tonight and I will be taking my own carbonated water. It’s so hard sometimes when everyone around you drinks. Happy hours are daily. I just can’t go back. Nothing triggered me I just wanted to drink. Had diarrhea afterwards. That’s definitely my body telling me that the alcohol is poison. I know better. Jesus. Ok I will eat Cowboys breakfast and get my act together! Hope everyone has a great Sunday. 24 hours ahead please and thank you.

That's pretty darn good gas mileage Ginger, those hybrids are pretty amazing vehicles.

Good job on pouring out the rest of the wine Rava, and if things get tough for you at the Super Bowl party, you could always leave.

It'll be a slow day here as well Jude, Bubba and I are getting all the paperwork ready to take to the accountant, it's tax time again lol.

We're headed into a week of very cold temps, hopefully we won't have too many more days of this kind of weather.

Waving to Slo and dill, have a great Sunday!

Rava, I get it! Same thing around here. Happy hour starts every day around 330p. I'm still holding out hope for kitty but I fear you're right. Damn it!

Thanks for brekkie! Waves to all. I'll take another day of freedom!

Good morning! I had a nice evening babysitting my nearby 2 y/o grandson while his parents went out. He’s such a cute, smart little guy. I love seeing what he’ll say next! “Exactly!” and “actually” are in heavy rotation now. Last month it was, “Of course!”

Ginger, a place in Costa Rica would be wonderful if they plan to invite you for visits! Nice gas mileage on the hybrid.

Rava, you are in a tough environment with happy hours as regular daily occurrences in your community.

No worries on breakfast, Cowboy, as we were still enjoying our coffee & tea beforehand.

I talked to my sister about ignoring my calls. She claims she had the phone on silent. I don’t get that excuse, because my phone puts a red circle on the phone icon with a count of how many calls you missed; then when you open it, it highlights who all called you in red. So how can you miss calls with an iPhone? So I said if she wants me to not call her and wait for her to be the one to call me, then fine. But if she wants me to call her too, then I would like an indication within 24 hours that she sees that I called (like a text).

It matters too because she lives alone, and was very ill in January with pneumonia. She didn’t acknowledge my calls for days on end during that time, -so what am I supposed to do with that?? Then I’m forced to call in the SWAT team basically to make sure she’s ok. And also, I know she had relapsed with her alcoholism on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, so I also don’t know if she has continued with this and is off on a bender! So I want some basic courtesy and communication, please, if I am your Next of Kin.

Hi to Dill and Jude too, as I commit to 24 more hours AF.

You know what to do Rava. It must be tough with so many people drinking around you but try to remember why you got sober in the first place. It's just not worth going down that road again.

                            24 more please...

Good morning Cafe. Waking up sober today. I brought my flavored carbonated water to the Super Bowl party and drank it from a wine glass. That seemed to satisfy my brain. Listened to a podcast yesterday on the beach about quitting alcohol and starting new habits. I needed to hear these things and get back on track. No alcohol in the house. I know what to do but damn if I sometimes do otherwise. Ginger, I think that cat is gone. The couple took their traps down throughout the neighborhood and I don't hear them calling her name anymore. So sad. The cat as 15 so maybe it escaped to die. I don’t know. Slo I am sorry about your sister. Sadly, she will do what she wants and you can’t change that. I think that is the hardest part. Cowboy, thanks aging for breakfast. Hi to Dill and Jude.
