Good job on getting through the party Rava!

There's not much else you can do with your sister Slo, but it still wouldn't hurt to reach out occasionally just to let her know you're thinking about her. Sounds like your gson has quite a vocabulary for a 2 year old.

Wicked cold here this morning so I won't be venturing too far today. Waves to the rest of the crew!

Listening to old podcasts of the Bubble Hour might help Rava. Good job getting thru the Super Bowl party!

One more super bowl down and dusted! I left the party at half time and didn't go back. It was a lovely, quiet evening. Something I rarely get!

Rava, sorry about the kitty. I didn't realize its age. Its very possible it snuck away to die. Poor people. Its so hard not knowing.

Slo, that's a rough situation with your sis. I hope she comes around.

I went to a friend’s house yesterday and tried to be interested in the Super Bowl. It was nice to gather and visit.
Got together for lunch and bingo today with my former sis-IL and her caregiver. That was a fun diversion. I even won once!

No, I got through to my sister, and, as stated, we made an agreement that if I call her, then she will respond back in some way by the next day. I don’t want to be left worrying that something happened to her if days are left to go by.

Rava, I find a special drink with bubbles and a pretty glass can help a lot, so that it still feels celebratory and fun.

We’re going cold & snowy here too, Cowboy.
I just found out (lab results) that my vitamin D level is quite low. So, I need to pull out my special sun lamp and start using it. And also need to supplement some with pills so I can catch up.

Dill, I’m glad your Pumpkin is good now!

It was an AF Super Bowl, and an AF day today.

Rava, I didn't realize how old your neighbors cat was, and he /she may very well have gone off to die. It's so hard not knowing what happened to the kitty which would torture me if it was my cat.

24 more for all of us please...

Good morning Cafe. Hope everyone is staying warm. Here I am in Florida with an electric blanket. Helps with the old bones and feels comforting. I am having some dental surgery today. Not a fan of this at all. Hope everyone has a good and sober day! Slo, glad you got an agreement with your sister. Dill, thanks for reminding me about the Bubble Hour I had forgotten about that podcast. 24 more please and thank you!

I am trying to decide if I should keep this conversation going and part of me says no, time to move on. But yet I have this one bittersweet memory I would like to share. Years ago, we had an old barn cat. Every day I would go out and feed it at the barn. One day it didn't show up at feeding time. I looked everywhere and called and called for him. He never came. At that time we also had a mixed breed dog (akita/lab) named Kela. She saw what I was doing. Later that day she came up to the deck with something in her mouth. She gently put it down in front of us. It was our dear barn cat's lifeless body. She knew we were looking for him and she knew where he was so she brought him to us. and we were able to properly bury him. He was very old and had a full life.

Hope your dental work goes well, Rava. "This too shall pass."

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Good luck with the dental work Rava, hope all goes smoothly.

Amazing how the dog knew what you were looking for dill, they seem to understand a lot of things without being told.

No natural Vitamin D for me either Slo, it's cloudy and snowing here. Looks like I'll be getting some fresh air and exercise though lol.

Waves to the rest of the gang!

                      Good morning,

Hope your dental work goes well, Rava; and hope yours did as well, Jude.

Thank you for sharing that poignant story about your dog and barn cat, Dill. My little sister had a cat that got out and ran away, which was so unlike her. They were able to find her after a few days, and indeed she had gone away to die. My sister was able to hold her while she died.

I used to manage without natural vitamin D up here in a northern climate much better when I could be active outside. I loved being outside in Winter. With the disabling conditions I’m struggling with now, I am spending much more time indoors. No wonder my vitamin D level has tanked. Thought I was compensating enough with the two short trips to sunnier climates this Winter, plus getting a little sun on my face and on my closed eyelids here & there, but no. It hasn’t been enough.

Nothing much today; just some cooking, cleaning, shopping, doing my rehab exercises & interventions, and going to my medical appointment. 24 hours more for me on an ordinary day please!

No Super Bowl party for me but I did watch it and was pretty disappointed that the Chiefs blew their chance. It would have been really cool to see history being made with a threepeat, but what can you do (not drown your sorrows in booze is what not to do, haha).

Unfortunately even getting out a lot in winter doesn't help because the UV index is too low to provide any vitamin D. Everyone that's mid-north should take Vitamin D supplements (I take 1000-2000 IU a day) at least between October and March. Speaking of, vitamin D or no, we've had another stretch of gloriously sunny weather, warming up to close to 0C in the day so not too cold either, has been really nice to get out.

Good morning cafe. Dill that is a beautiful story of your dog bringing the cat to you. Animals are so smart! Got to the dentist yesterday and it was a cluster. Long story short. I rescheduled. This too shall pass as Dill says. Hope everyone has a great day. I am going to work on my Vitamin D today at the beach with my neighbor. No booze today! 24 more please and thank you.

We just had a sunny day too, and warm-ish (23F). I enjoyed it, as we’re heading into an extended cold snap starting today.

Also, for some reason I thought my 3x/wk. red light therapy treatments in the red bed were making up for lack of strong sunlight. Doh! Wrong wavelengths!

Spent some time with Daughter 2 and little grandson yesterday, folding their laundry & trying to be a bit helpful. Daughter was very under the weather on her day off.

Thankful that the full moon is today, so I can get to the other side of it and have better energy soon! 24 more for me.
