Thanks for another awesome breakfast, Cowboy! Glad your daughter arrived safely to her new beginning.

Sorry you're having so much pain, Slo. Hopefully the Valentine video took your mind off it for awhile.

I guess we all need to keep our passports active now that Ginger has some great new digs in Costa Rica!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Beautiful place in Costa Rica, Ginger! Thanks for sharing.

That’s how I thought I’d be living now: traveling to places like Costa Rica, exercising, taking all the little grandchildren on excursions; helping out my daughters, and being an active grandma. Enjoying life! Instead I have become a partial invalid who can’t even take a walk outside…once one of my main loves. Travel is useless because I can’t do much of anything, and the money I would have used for travel is now going to healthcare to try to fix this, because insurance won’t cover my treatments. Unless I was of Medicare age; then it would! So I pay nearly $1000 per month on insurance that I can’t use for what I need it for, plus $34,000 out-of-pocket last year and continuing on, to try to get better, or to at least forestall slipping into the next stage, which is irreversible neuropathy.
I lost my big beautiful home to divorce because he said I had to keep the whole thing clean and running all by myself, with no hired cleaning help to defray all that work, and I just couldn’t do it all anymore. Thought I could manage a condo on my own, but am struggling mightily against the pain & fatigue & limitations of this broken body, and can’t quite manage this either.
I have an appointment to look at living in an independent living facility. I will be old enough to qualify to live there next year. Never thought I’d be disabled like this, and am shocked and so sad & frustrated.

Nice of your ex-wife to take in the Great Dane as well, Cowboy. Yikes! Thanks for the hearty breakfast.

I picked Huxley up from daycare on Thursday, so saw him open his valentines that night. On Friday I saw the other grandkids in person when a car repair appointment didn’t take long (part needs to be ordered), so I ended up continuing on to their house from the dealership, since was halfway there.

Thanks for listening. Another AF day for me.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Geez Slo, I'm so sorry to hear about your troubles. I didn't realize that you had so many health issues, which can definitely affect your quality of life. Hopefully, you can find a low maintenance place to live, such as assisted living. It sucks getting old!

Ginger, I've got my bags packed and am ready to go to Costa Rica! Nice house!

Looking forward to another 24 hours of serenity...

Good morning Cafe. I thought I posted yesterday and realized I missed breakfast! Thanks Cowboy, also very glad your daughter made it safely! Ginger, Wow I love the place. Love the tile, flooring and all the vegetation. So private and cozy. I cant wait to see pictures from when you visit. Looks amazing! Slo, so very sorry you are in so much pain. I hope you find relief for it as well as another place to live that is more manageable. Hi to Jude and Dill! Hope everyone has a good and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.

Slo, I didn't realize the extent of your physical problems. I'm so sorry you have so much to contend with. Glad you have your grandkids to focus your attention on.

Ginger, I took a look at the link to the property and it is stunning!

Cowboy, what does your daughter's Dane look like? Maybe you could share a picture sometime?

Snow, bitter cold and wind here in the Ohio Valley. I'm begging for Spring to head our way sooner rather than later! Hope that groundhog got it right.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

I think looking for a place like independent living would work out well for you Slo, it's too bad you have to live with all the pain though.

That looks like a fantastic place Ginger, just sitting around the pool in the sunshine would be great!

It's bitter cold here as well dill, but only for a couple more days then we'll be above freezing by the weekend. I'll check and see what I have for pics of Bruce (yes, they gave him the same name as me lol).

                Have a great day y'all!

Bruce the Great! I love it. Can't wait to see pics!

Slo, I'm so sorry about your health issues. I hope you can find a place that works for you. My dil is a nurse for an assisted living facility. It's a lovely place with a restaurant that serves great food. I hope you can find someplace like that!

I'm researching what it would entail to take Cyrus to CR. If we were only staying a week, I wouldn't take him BUT longer than that I'd want to. It's no easy task, that's for sure!

Stay warm my Cafe peeps! I'll take another day of freedom!

Bitter cold here too (high of 5F, low of -10F, “Feels like” of -16F). Which made looking again at Ginger’s pictures of the Costa Rica place all the more…warming! Like a nice break from this weather.

Getting old does indeed suck, Jude! I was hoping to do it more gracefully, without outright disabilities. But, I watch seemingly healthy people around me suddenly getting cancer and dying, or getting early dementia and needing caregivers until their early demise comes; or getting Parkinson’s…a lot can go wrong, and I’m grateful that I don’t have those conditions, anyways.

Your daughter gave her dog your same name, Cowboy?! Interesting! There might be a story in there!

An AF Monday is ahead for me.

I found some pics of Amana and Bruce. Just to give you an idea of the size of Bruce, Amanda is an even 6 feet tall. Not sure why they named him Bruce (they usually call him Brucie Bear) but they did phone me and asked me if it was okay if they named him that lol. This is their 3rd. rescue Dane.

Bruce is really handsome, and your daughter is stunning, Cowboy! Thanks for sharing those photos. Wow, that's a lot of dog! That's nice that they checked with you before naming him. Some people would be offended so it's good they checked.

Jude, we're closing in on the final day of your job, aren't we?

I'm sure Amanda would appreciate all the compliments so I'll thank y'all on her behalf. Sounds like Bruce is starting to get used to the cold and snow now, Amanda did buy him some "winter wear" and said he loves playing in the snowbanks lol.
