ABC, their lives are unimaginable. Sending thoughts to all those affected and lost.

Thanks for explaining your work history, Jude.

Rava, I would have had to leave too! Reading sounds way more fun. Lol

Slo, some people think Tony Robbins is culty. You might want to Google him and read some opinions.

Hi Dill and Mul! Here we are at the end of another fine week. I'll take another day of freedom!

I am sure I would have given up on the corn hole too, Rava. I would not have had the patience. Home and reading....can't beat it!

Cowboy, listening to your immigrant friend makes me even more grateful than I already was to be living in freedom and in peace. Aren't we blessed?

Slo and Ginger, I have heard the name Tony Robbins, but that is the extent of what I know about him. I'd have to google him to know more.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I spent the day with my daughter and three little grandchildren, and stayed through the evening so the couple could get out and go out for dinner together.
So lovely to have all those hugs from little ones! The just-turned two-year-old is getting rough though, and throwing a lot of punches, and smack at my eyes too.

I do have bigger problems than window coverings, Jude, like this paralysis, weakness, & neuropathy that has taken over my body. I got my daughter’s (their) kitchen & entryway floor all swept & mopped (and the truckload of stuck-on stuff scrubbed off), and it was just way too much for my body to handle. I hate this -not being able to do normal things.
The trouble with the window treatments is what Cowboy says: the shocking expense.

Thank you for the snapshot of Hayyan’s world, Cowboy. Just awful. Thankfully he & his wife got out, as did his parents. Not that relocating is easy, or having to leave your home.

Rava, your friend’s ER bill sounds typical sadly. So frustrating. As is hours of waiting your turn for cornhole!

An easy 24 hours AF today; spent with children, who don’t drink!
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Laundry, cleaning and running errands are on the to do list this morning. In the past, I often started drinking early in the morning, which was not conducive to getting anything done. On those days I was usually in bed napping by 10:00 am and back up around 3:00 pm , just in time to start drinking again. Don't miss that at all!

Slo, maybe you should post pics of the window blinds here as someone suggested. Maybe we can come up with some ideas to make it look better.

Who wants to join me for another 24 hours of freedom...

Good morning Cafe. I am really having a lot of issues with this site. It keeps signing me out everytime I go back and forth on a page. I cant “like” any posts either. So I am keeping this post short Incase it doesn't post. Hope everyone has a great and sober day.

Sorry you are having such troubles signing in and staying in, Rava. I hope you get back to normal soon. I look forward to seeing you each day.

Wow, Jude, it sounds like you had some pretty dark times in the past. I have done very much the same tho. I never started as early as 10 am, but have started at noon and like you I would end up napping and wasting my productive hours of the day. What a waste.

Slo, I sure hope that something can be done to slow or reverse your weakness and neuropathy. It must be so frustrating for you,

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

I sometimes have a bit of trouble with the site as well Rava, not like you seem to be having though. I sometimes get a little yellow box at the top that sats "working..." when I hit the post reply button. I'm not sure how much longer MWO will be around, I see we're the only active thread left here.

I started drinking in the mornings as well Jude near the end of my drinking days. I just can't imagine going back to those days ever again.

It's too bad they can't come up with some sort of answer to your pain Slo, living like that can't be fun at all.

Never mind it's the end of another week Ginger, it's also the start of another month. It's supposed to be another beautiful day here, March is coming in like a lamb for us, hopefully it doesn't go out like a lion.

I got it to work! (posting photos)
The ones in the dining room are unfortunately blackout, and besides the white that they selected being too drab, the room and therefore whole condo is rendered way too dark. The only way to get any light in is to keep them wide open, which is too cold in the Winter. I would need to get windows replaced.

The one in the bedroom looks like a canvas drop cloth was tacked over the window. Plus, it is now colder in that room.

Just posted them for curiosity’s sake. I won’t speak of it anymore.

We cross posted Slo, maybe just adding some color in the form of curtain toppers would help. We have much the same in our house except we have the curtain toppers.

I get the yellow “working” tab too, Cowboy. And I have to refresh my MWO tab often, not just leave it open; or it will glitch.

Thanks for the reminder of what life was like on the hamster wheel. I hadn’t quite turned into a morning drinker yet, but by afternoon, especially when the witching hour hit, I would get started.

I think my sister is managing a big chunk of sober time right now! My brother, I can tell that he starts drinking in the morning. The last time I saw him, he must’ve face-planted; because he had sores all along the right side of his face.
The two siblings that Mommy Dearest bothered to love? Oh, they’re thriving. Even the one that “takes” to alcohol, like a duck to water.

I’m not going back to that! 24 more AF hours, please.

Slo, if it were me, I'd add shears in the living room. That way I'd be able to raise those blinds and get some filtered light but still have some privacy. The bedroom, I'd add a valance over the Roman shade to pretty things up. Oh and at my age, I'd crank up the heat if I were cold. Hell, we are blessed with electricity, why not be comfortable? Your place looks lovely!

ABC, are we really the only active thread left? I've never looked beyond our little corner of the cyber world. That's not sustainable. Im glad we have your backup site.
