Good morning Cafe. I am off to a late start. I did go to urgent care and got an antibiotic and tylenol with codeine. The pain was so intense that the codeine only lasted about 2 hours. I have never had pain like this. I am back on Motrin/tylenol mix without the loopy feeling. Tomorrow I will be calling the office first thing. I am sure it’s a dry socket. The pain and the breath is just horrible. This is a replacement dentist for my old dentist who passed away. The office is getting set up and there was no emergency number given. I left a message each day since Friday. They are going to know tomorrow how I feel about no emergency number given. Spent 2 hours in the urgent care with everyone coughing and hacking. I actually wore a mask. OK enough about my misery, Hey at least I am not drinking….. Slo good luck with those windows. We had ours replace in our florida condo and it made things much quieter. Ginger, that sucks about your credit card. I have my alerts set for anything over 1.00. So my phone is always beeping from my credit card company. Thanks for breakfast Cowboy. Hope everyone has a good weekend. I on the other hand will be glad when its over. 24 more please!

Rava, glad that you were able to at least get some antibiotics and pain meds from urgent care. I've never had dry socket after having a tooth extraction, but I've heard that it's extremely painful. Hope that you can see the dentist today and get it looked at.

Who wants to join me for another 24 hours of serenity?

Thanks for another awesome breakfast, Cowboy! And sorry to hear you had to put the snow shovel back in action. Winter has to let go sometime soon. Hang in there!

Rava, I just hate that you have had to go through so much pain! Glad you go some level of relief tho.

Waves to you Ginger, Slo, Jude and Mul.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Yes, glad you got some relief from the pain Rava, I imagine your dentist will want to see you again to check things out.

A bit more snow to shovel again this morning then clear and colder for the upcoming week. Hopefully we won't see much more snow till spring gets here for good.

Rava, you poor thing! I sure hope the dentist can do more for you today.

Talked to little sis. She's still abstaining! She said she's done putting poison in her body. I never thought I'd see the day. I'm so happy for her

off to yoga. Waves to all. I'll take another day of freedom!

I’d be pretty livid at that dentist, Rava! Hopefully you can get seen today.

Ginger, woo hoo! Having another abstain-er will make it easier for you too when you get together with your sisters.

I went out to my brother’s house yesterday and spent the afternoon playing cards with my brother and his twin sons who are seniors in high school. I went on the pretense of needing them to teach me how to play euchre before I join the neighborhood group next week, and they obliged me! My sweet 16 y/o niece was in & out too. It was fun, and assuaged some loneliness. I think it was good for them too, and they enjoyed it!
I hate to see how severe chronic alcoholism (as well as intense anger & complex PTSD from narcissistic abuse as a scapegoat) has ruined my once happy, whole, outgoing, super-popular brother! His reflexes and thinking are all slowed, his thinking can be confused, and he lashes out in mean, inappropriate, intense anger at his sons and me if we make any little mistakes while playing cards.
I feel so bad for the boys. But they have been dealing with it for a long time, and have had to make many adaptations along the way (since their mother died when they were 7) to shoulder much of the household burden, and to cope with their dad the way he is, and try to defuse him and steer him towards appropriate behavior. And the end is in sight, as they will be graduating from high school this Spring and moving on.
My brother is a good dad to the kids in many ways, but he is quite impaired from the drink.

So, we made the right decision to drop AL out of our lives! And let’s keep this going for another 24 hours!
