Rava when I read your post about people around there who think you and your HB are antisocial, it brought to mind a saying I remember hearing a long time ago in the early days of my time here at MWO. I believe it is a common saying in AA and I loved it from the very first time I heard it: "What Other People Think About Me Is None of My Business". Do what you need to do. Your health is more important..

Cowboy, I have no experience with partials vs dentures, but I believe it is generally thought to be better to keep your teeth for as long as you can. I think your dentist advised you well and that you have chosen the right path.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Quick check in, heading out this morning and hope to be in Georgia tonight. Hope that it's a better drive than yesterday was!

        24 more please...

Good morning Cafe. Dill, thanks for the quote. I will definitely remember it! Jude, once you get to Florida you will forget all about the blizzard conditions. Wow glad you and your sister got a hotel! Cowboy, I think you made the right decision. My late husband had his teeth pulled and dentures put in all in the same day. Some clinics will do that and said that inserting dentures right away helped with the swelling and bleeding. I would rather keep my teeth at all costs. Speaking of teeth mine are very sensitive to hot and cold. I am still eating on one side. Hopefully I will have some answers next week. Granddaughter got here last night around 9 pm. We all went to bed and she is still sleeping. Today is a beach day so it should be fun. Hope everyone was a Good Friday. Waves to everyone. 24 more please and thank you!

            Safe travels, Jude!

Not much going on here today. That's the way we like it! Well, perhaps Mr. D would disagree. Remember when we patched the pond last Fall? Well, e'hs been really busy trying to make the most of the spring rain that has filled the creeks recently. He is pumping water from one of the creeks into the pond to get it re-filled faster than with just the run-off it was designed to fill with. He's constantly filling the gas and tending to whatever crops up.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

Glad you're back on the road Jude, let's hope the rest of the trip doesn't hold any more surprises.

Enjoy your day on the beach with your granddaughter Rava.

I usually have to pump in the spring out at the farm dill, but it's to drain water from a pond by the camper, not try to keep it filled lol. I haven't had to the last couple of years because we've had little snow to create much runoff, maybe this year will be different with the amount of snow we've got.

It should be a better drive, Jude, now that you are driving out of “snow” country.

I’m not feeling well, and so sick of the neuropathy. It hurts, and makes me weak. Sucks.

Granddaughter should enjoy a day on the beach, Rava!

                    Still AF.

Well, that is the magic of alcohol! -being turned into a funny, social party person!
Yup, exact same thing for me; I have almost a dual personality where I have high social anxiety and am quite shy, but once I'm comfortable I can be quite open, fun and boisterous... and of course alcohol provided that instant switch, it is a remarkable substance when used responsibly as a purely social lubricant. I do kick myself sometimes for screwing it up and abusing it to the point of (dependence) not being able to drink at all anymore. Even though those situations don't come up very much anymore (most of my friends have young kids now), it would still be fun to drink social once in a while like a normal person. But that's life I guess... I crammed three or four lifetimes worth drinking into 20 years and used it all up.

Good morning cafe. Jude, I hope your travel is going well. When do you expect to be in Florida? Yesterday was windy and cold so we went to the pool instead. We are attempting the beach today. Been a good visit so far. Slo i hope you can get the pain under control today. So yesterday I found out my dad was in the hospital for almost a week. Stepmother was keeping that secret from me saying that if I knew I would put him in hospice. She would not put my sibling or I on the hospital call list so we couldn't even find out his condition. This woman is mentally ill. My sister went to the hospital and he is hooked to life sustaining support. Why?? Because stepmother doesnt want him to die. So she is keeping him alive at all costs. It’s almost abuse to me. I am just spouting off about this but the end is near. I said my goodbyes when I was there for Christmas. It’s time to let go. Unfortunately some people never do. I am trying the beach today with granddaughter. Hopefully the wind will be less and the temperature a little warmer. Just trying to get thru this weekend, having fun with her and not dwelling on my fathers situation. Thanks for listening. 24 more please and thank you.

Hope you get to feeling better Slo, can't imagine what it would be like living in pain all the time.

Sad news about your dad Rava, at least you did get to spend some time with him at Christmas.

I was the same as you Mulburry, but towards the end of my drinking career I preferred drinking alone, so much for the excuse for needing the booze to feel comfortable in a group.

Looking forward to Amanda and Bruce's visit today, I'll maybe find out why she ended up leaving Nat and moving back in with her mom.

I started out the same as you Mul, but it didn't take long before I expanded my "reasons" to drink. The most harmful one was "needing to relax and deal with stress". That's when I started having to have wine in the afternoon to let go of all the day's anxieties. That lead eventually to drinking alone being acceptable and in the end I was, like Cowboy, drinking alone and mostly at home. Social drinking became too difficult because I couldn't control my intake and I then became anxious that I would make a fool of myself or get into some stupid situation that I would regret. I am sure you made the right choice to quit while you were ahead of all that!

Slo, I'm sorry you're feeling so poorly. Hope you get to feeling better.

Rava, sorry to hear how things are going for your father. Sometimes all we can do is pray.

I'm so glad you will get a visit with your daughter and get to meet your namesake, Cowboy! Will it just be for a day or will she be staying a night or two?

Ginger, are you still headed back on the 26th?

Jude, I bet you are having much better weather now.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.
