Ugh, I caught a cold from my grandson. He gave me a full, wet, kiss on the mouth before I could stop him, and directly infected me. Thankfully I’m not as sick as Jude is.

My favorite "little" sis came out yesterday and gave me a much needed haircut and in return, I did her taxes. I got the better deal! Lol

We are about 90% settled. Yay. I'll take another day of freedom!

Possums and bobcats, oh my! That would be scary to encounter a bobcat while walking a dog.

Bobcats are quite small aren't they? I've never seen one in the wild but have seen a Lynx and believe they are quite similar. I don't think it would scare me at all (though I could understand if you have a small dog or cat)... a cougar on the other hand...
We don't have possums here luckily. Lot's of racoons around these parts but they don't seem to create too many problems (as long as you have your trash properly locked up, haha).

Finally a nice sunny spring-like day again here! Was very pleasant getting out and shooting a hockey ball around with a friend and his kids (I hadn't had a hockey stick in my hand since before covid, I didn't realize how much I missed it), and getting a bit of a walk in afterwards.

We also have Bob cats where I live, but I've only seen one once. Apparently they are quite shy and elusive which explains why you rarely see them..

Dill, hope that you can evacuate the possum and get pumpkin some peace of mind. Poor cat!

Feeling a little better so far today, but having trouble breathing due to the high humidity here. I have COPD which really flared up after I caught this nasty virus. Hopefully today will be better!

Good Monday Morning Cafe, Jude I am so sorry that you are still feeling like crap. This humidity and hot temperatures will not help. Hope you can just stay in the AC. Ginger, I am glad that you are settling back into your routine. Taxes vs haircut sounds good to me. Great way to use both of your skills. Mul, glad you got to play some hockey yesterday. Slo, sorry your grandson made you sick. They are little walking germs for sure!!! Dill, Hope you catch that possum soon!!! Monday is upon us. I am going to do my best to make it a good and sober week. No booze in this house. I can not even have anything in here because I will think about it all day and end up drinking it. I'm not a big fan of sweet pickles Rava, but since I like spicey foods I'd give those a try.

Spring colds aren't much fun Slo, but they seem to be around more this time of year.

I don't remember the last time I've had my skates on or held a hockey stick Mulburry, but it's been years.

I'm almost due for a haircut as well Ginger, but I'll wait till the weather warms up a bit more.

I don't imagine Pumpkin like being kept in the small room dill, so I hope the trapping doesn't take too long.

Had lots of fun yesterday at the dance, and got to visit with some new and old friends as well.

Jude, that’s too bad that you’re stuck indoors while in Florida. Well, at least during the heat of the day; maybe in the evenings you can get outside some.

You did your sister’s taxes, Ginger? That sounds like a pain! You must be good at it.

Rava, definitely keep booze out of your place. Your husband you say doesn’t drink regularly, so just keep it out. You don’t need that temptation.

Mul, that hockey play sounds like fun! My brothers used to play ice hockey, and they loved it.

Rava, I absolutely cannot have wine/spirits in the house. It calls to me from the moment it comes through the door. There is one exception, and that is beer. Mr. D keeps light beer in the fridge. I don't like it well enough to be awfully tempted because I know I would have to drink SO MUCH just to begin to feel the buzz I want that it just isn't worth it.

Slo, that must be so frustrating not to feel up to baking cookies. I hope after you rested you were able to finish putting the dough together at least. Then you could refrigerate it and bake the next day.

Jude, will you be extending your stay in Florida to make up for the days you were under the weather? I hope you feel much better today.

Cowboy, the trap doesn't seem to be working properly as the trap remains set, but the food is all gone. That, plus we saw the critter on the game cam, making himself/herself quite at home without the cat pestering it, Mr. D is going to work on the trap to see if he can figure out what's not working right. (He's good at stuff like that.) Then we'll try again tonight. The critter is very comfortable with it now, so he should go in willingly. Just have to make it sensitive enough to be tripped.

The barn room Pumpkin is in isn't too terribly small. I say it's about 8'x10'. It has the occasional mouse to chase and kill and it has a window with a windowsill so he can see out. I know he is tired of the whole thing because he is kind of grumpy when I go in to feed him. But he is definitely doing fine and "this too shall pass".

Good morning Cafe. Cowboy, Im glad you had a good time at the dance. The best part about it is that you were not drinking so you had fun and remembered everything! Slo, hope you eventually got those cookies made. So sorry you were feeling so bad and in so much pain…. Dill, I cant agree with you more. We have some beer in the refrigerator but like you said, it would take too much to get a buzz. I feel the same way about the cheap wines. They are so weak in alcohol that I can drink an entire bottle and not even feel buzzed. All that does is add more calories to my waistline. I feel so much better without the booze. I have to keep reminding myself of this. It’s an absolute NO to hard liquor because I try to drink that like wine and it completely destroys me. I wonder where this disordered thinking came from. Years of managed drinking turned into a complete mess. Anyway, that is why I am here. Wishing everyone a great and sober day. Hi to Ginger, Jude and Mul too!

I'm pretty lucky that Bubba doesn't drink either, there's been no booze of any kind in our house for years. Not sure if it would bother me if there was but no sense testing that theory lol.

Yes, Mr. D fixed the trap, but the saga continues..... The unwelcome guest did not touch the food in the trap last night. So perhaps he took a different route last night and didn't make it to our barn. So, another day goes by. But we are still working on it. Pumpkin is doing ok, but I am sure he wants his freedom back soon.

Good morning cafe! Still coughing up a lung everyday and having trouble breathing. I stayed inside all day yesterday in the air conditioning and might have to do the same today. So sad because I can see the ocean and beach from our condo.

I am also really triggered by all of the booze available everywhere in Florida. Rava, I don't know how you do it, but good for you!
