Running late! Waves to all. I'll take another day of freedom

    Comment

Jude, that’s great if you can get a beach day in while in Florida. That’s right; you love sitting on your porch when the season permits.

Yesterday my sister was pet-sitting for my daughter & her HB (he got chicks and is building a chicken coop), so I went over there for the afternoon and watched a movie with her. I was low energy and in some pain and not feeling well, so it was comforting.

Dill, you have lived there for a long time! That’s the same year that ex-HB & I had built our home. Time flies.

I had to add my SSRI Lexapro back in today, at 5mg. This B6 toxicity recovery causes a lot of terrible symptoms of depersonalization, derealization, anxiety, terror, depression…and I’m really struggling. Many people need to use an SSRI or something similar in order to get through it. Looks like I need to too.

Today I am having lunch with my former sisters-in-law and Uncle Don, to celebrate Uncle Don’s 95th birthday!

I wish you all a great day.
Once a pickle, never a cucumber again.

Good morning Cafe. Dill, I got the camera on Tik Tok for 49.00. They come in two lengths. Get the 98 foot one. They are more expensive on Amazon. I am going to post a picture of it. Slo Hope the Lexapro helps. Hope you had a good lunch celebrating your Uncle Dons 95th! Thats quite a milestone. Hi to everyone here. Off to my volunteer job today. 24 more please and thank you.

That's a pretty cool camera Rava, could be useful for a lot of things.

Hope the visit and b-day lunch went well Slo, 95 is amazing.

A few farmers around here stock trout in their dugouts dill, but they use those small windmills for aeration over the winter.

Hope you got in your beach day Jude and enjoyed some time in the sun.

Jude we stocked it with freshwater fish. We have catfish in there and bass, crappie, and minnows. We also have some huge koi. We put 7 in some years ago, but I think we are down to 5 now. This go round we bought some channel catfish, hybrid bluegill, white amur (grass carp), standard bluegill, hybrid striped bass, and red ear (sunfish). It is great that you can hear that babbling brook. Such a soothing sound.

Thanks for the info on that camera, Rava, and the picture of it as well. It makes sense to get the longer line. I'll look for it.

Cowboy, is dugout the word you use for a manmade pond?

Ginger, you sure sound like you are on-the-go!

Slo, I hope the lexapro helps. And I agree, time flies! Just where did all those years go?

I think we are going to learn something about the status of our local hospital today. The Administration is holding a town hall meeting, and I imagine they'll share any current info that can.

24 more for all of us please and thank you.

I had a wonderful long lunch with ex-HB’s two sisters, the one’s longtime friend, the other one’s caregiver, and his uncle. Such nice people! Uncle Don is amazing; ageless, timeless, funny, and a great conversationalist. It makes me wish I was still in the fold, but at least they still include me.

The Lexapro is helping already. At least it is only half as much as I was taking before.

I finally slept well last night through the night.

It is fun to hear about all the kinds of fish you stock your pond with, Dill.

Hope you have another good day in Florida with your sisters, Jude.

Is it raining where you are there, Rava? Then it’s a good day to go to work.

Tonight I get to babysit 2 y/o Huxley.

                  24 more hours please!

Slo, I'm impressed with your ability to keep up with a 2yo with your health issues. Good on you!

It's always crazy busy around here when we first get back. So much catching up! Lol

Waves to all! I'll take another day

                      Good morning cafe!

Dill, it's great that you stock your pond with such a wide variety of fish. I would have a ball fishing there just for fun; I always catch and release. Do you or Mr. D use the pond for fishing?

Slo, glad that the Lexapro is starting to work already, as sometimes they can take awhile before seeing improvement.

Today looks like a good day to check out an air boat tour of the Everglades. Who knows? Maybe we'll see an alligator.

24 more for all of us please...

Have fun on the airboat tour Jude, don't feed the alligators lol.

Glad the lunch was so enjoyable Slo, I still get along well with most of my ex in-laws even after 30 years.

I didn't realize you stocked it with so many varieties dill, around here it's only rainbow trout. I'm not sure you could even call a dugout a small pond lol, but it is manmade. Any of the farmers that have cattle dig them to collect water for the cattle to drink from.

Still haven't heard anything from the dental office, they should have my new teeth ready for a first fitting sometime soon, then comes the rest of the pulling. I'm off this morning to Lloydminster for my annual hearing test and I'm sure my hearing aids will need to be upgraded as I'm losing more hearing in my right ear. Guess I'll find out soon enough.

Good morning Cafe. Jude hope you enjoy the airboat ride. They are interesting especially if you see the alligators. We have gone twice and liked it both times. Ginger, you are running since getting back. I am guessing all will settle back soon. Cowboy all we do is doctors and dentists as we get older….. Slo, glad your med is working. Hope your babysitting adventure last night went well. Hi to Dill and Mul. Hope everyone has a great and sober day. 24 more please and thank you!

Jude, I've never done an airboat ride. I bet that will be fun! You're welcome to come here and fish any time you like. I myself do not fish, but Mr. D and the kids and grandkids all do. Mostly we catch and release, but sometimes Mr. D catches and cleans them, and we enjoy a meal of fresh fish.

Cowboy, I have heard the word dugout but here in the States it refers to a (1) partially underground shelter or (2) a hollowed-out tree made into a canoe. It sounds like a practical solution for getting water to cattle and similar to our pond, just not al big I would guess. We used to let our cattle in around the pond, but we didn't like having the mess and sidestepping the cow pies, so we put in an underground system that we pump from an underground spring, and we ran it out to 3 pastures. At the time I there was a county ag program that helped farmers with the design and some of the costs. On another subject: how exciting that your partials will be in soon!

Speaking of alligators and airboats: some 20 years ago now we went down to visit our daughter in New Orleans, not long after she first moved there. We went on a swamp tour. Back then you could choose air boat or canoe to traverse the swamps. Not knowing what we were getting into, we chose the canoe. We floated through the swamp at water level in a canoe! The guide gave us marshmallows to throw into the water to feed the alligators. Yes! You read that right. They came very close, and we saw loads of alligators. Recently my daughter told me they longer allow that style of tour. It's all airboat now and feeding the gators is not allowed.

Waves to Rava, Slo, Ginger and Mul.

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you,

                                Good morning,

OMG that canoe tour sounds so dangerous, Dill! What a story! I enjoyed seeing the alligators in Florida on a walking tour, although was maybe too close. They are powerful creatures.
Jude, sounds like a great activity for today!

Dill, that’s quite a setup that you had for watering your cattle.

Ginger, it is hard for me to babysit now. I had to give up babysitting all day, and can only manage an evening here & there. I took him to Chuck E. Cheese for a couple hours.

Cowboy, thanks for the reminder that you too and others here navigate in-laws after divorce. I’m glad that yours is amicable too.
I’m sorry that your hearing might be worsening. At least the hearing aid technology has improved nowadays.

Tomorrow I am heading out to travel visit my daughter D3 & son-in-law and the two little grandchildren for a long weekend.
