Good morning cafe! Quiet here this morning, but the snow will be moving in later on. In my area we are only supposed to get around 6 inches or so but about an hour north of us folks may be getting 2-3 ft.of the white stuff. At least the skiers and snow lovers will be happy!

Rava, I am also "California sober" and can take it or leave it. I don't crave it like I did with booze, but I do know that I need to be careful due to my addictive nature.

Hope that everyone has a wonderful, sober day. 24 more please...

Good morning Cafe. Today is travel day. They are calling for a snowstorm here at the tiny house in just 3 days so we are getting out of town just in time! Hopefully no delays and if all goes as planned we should be home by 7 pm. Fingers crossed. We said our goodbyes to everyone and now ready to move on to warmer weather. Now I just have to make a plan when I grocery shop to avoid the wine section! Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday. 24 more please and thank you.

Safe travels, Rava! Perfect timing on your part, I must say!

Jude, I woke up to snow falling. It looks like it's stopped now and we got maybe 2-3 inches. The rest of the day will be clouds, winds and cold. So, while it's pretty, it's also pretty uncomfortable, with a "feels like" temperature of 5F. (-15C) Unfortunately, I need a few things from the grocery, so I guess I'll get to experience it later this morning! Did you have to get out in the weather to get to work?

Ginger, I bet that sleep in felt good!

24 more for all of us here, please and thank you.

        Dill

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

6" of snow is more then enough to deal with Jude, don't know how anyone would deal with 2 - 3 feet of it!

It's cold here as well dill, -31C (-24F) and -39 with the wind chill. Thankfully it's only supposed to be the one night of this bitter cold.

Minus anything is unimaginable to me. Stay safe if you shovel, guys.

Safe travels, Rava. I'm hoping our store clears out the booze on every end cap soon. Hard to shop with your eyes closed. Bahaha

Hubby wants to go to the gem and mineral show today so off we go after yoga! Should be fun. I'll take another day!

For me, even a little bit of alcohol awakens the devil that is addiction.
Thanks for the input. It's been a few days now and I'm still fine, conversely I feel almost more like the danger has passed, if anything. I also don't plan on doing so again any time soon. I think also the key for me was that I didn't drink nearly enough to get any sort of effect (I wasn't very clear in my description but the total amount of Al I consumed was probably no more than a third of standard drink over a couple of hours -I was very careful when pouring). I do appreciate the words of advice and concern though, from everyone.

I consider myself California sober because I still occasionally use gummies. My drug of choice is always alcohol. So I technically fight that every day. The gummies do not sit the same with me as alcohol and I can take them or leave them whereas alcohol draws me in.
Rava California Sober, hahaha, good phrase, I like that one. I am the same, use gummies once in a while but I'm really not drawn to them very often. I also use psychedlics occaisionally, but none of these are really addictive at all for me. I think for me too, the big difference is that I my body hasn't kindled itself to a crazy insane physical addiciton to these substances, like it did with alcohol. Alcohol (or downers) is just something I can't mess around with, I know that now after 20 years of worsening experience and ever deeper physical dependence.

Wow that is a boatload of snow. We finally got our first snowfall yesterday but it was only small dusting and now it's already gone again with the rain today.

                  Goog morning cafe!

They are still getting pounded with Lake Effect snow just north of us. It's snowing hard here at the moment, but I doubt that we'll get nearly as much as our North country neighbors, who are buried in the white stuff.

Dill, I don't have to work until Monday so I don't have to go out in the cold and snow until then. Yay!

24 more for all of us please...

Good morning Cafe. Made it back to Florida last night with no travel issues. I had a box mailed to me for Christmas from a friend which came from the United States Postal Service that was cut with a box cutter and contents removed. That pissed me off. I will be taking the box to the post office today to see what recourse I have. The item was insured by the sender and she sent me the receipt. This will be like going down a rabbit hole I am sure. Other than that I have no complaints. We dodged the snow coming on Monday. They are calling for 8 plus inches. I’m sure the stores are already out of toilet paper and milk. Hope everyone has a wonderful Saturday. 24 more please and thank you.

Glad you made it home safe and sound Rava, wonder why they opened your parcel, seems strange.

How was the gem and mineral show Ginger? Did you but lots to use in your crafting?

Thankfully no snow, or at least not much in our forecast, and the temp has improved to -23C (-10F) so if we do get a bit of snow it won't be unbearable to deal with it.

ABC, when we lived in the mountains we'd say, it's too cold to snow. Your comment reminded me of that. Thanks. Those were great times and a wonderful place to raise three little boys. Dill, where did all those years go?! Right?

Dill, your right; the days seem to be flying by so quickly. I guess that's why they say to treasure each moment and live in the day.

Glad that you made it home safe Rava. I'm sure that you were happy to leave the cold behind you! What state is your tiny house in? Just curious.

Looking forward to another 24 hours of freedom...
