Hope you had a good time with the family Slo, and I'd also be interested in hearing more about the surrogacy.

How did the flower planting go Ginger, hope your knee held up okay. I'm thinking you'll probably be fine with the replacement and wish you'd done it a lot sooner.

We are also having ham and the rest of the trimmings for Easter Jude. We usually get a smoked ham and then heat it up on the smoker for extra flavor. I really like the left over double smoked ham for sandwiches.

I'm ready for a knee when they'll do it! We had a great day buying and planting flowers. Gdaughter is due any day now and I think she was hoping the extra activity would encourage baby to come but.... she's still prego as of this morning. Maybe today!

Hello, everyone! I stayed overnight at D1’s and drove home this morning. It was a beautiful day out yesterday, so spent the day outdoors while the kids played on the driveway. Got to read bedtime stories to Mabel at night, and help Cooper blow bubbles.

D2 is having someone else be a surrogate for her. They were able to have Huxley with fertility treatments, but have been unsuccessful since then.

Sorry you need a knee replacement, Ginger. I hate mine. Actually, the original was good; but I dislike the revision, and also the nerve damage around it.
Did you enjoy your time planting flowers with g-daughter and the littles?

Today is my volunteer day so as usual, I'm checking in late. I just can't seem to squeeze in computer time in the early morning before I have to leave for the hospital. I noticed a big difference in the level of daylight this morning. Last week it was still quite dark and brights were needed to watch for deer and other wildlife. But this morning it was light enough to see without the brights. We are definitely moving toward Summer!

Dill, I've also noticed the increased daylight lately which is a great mood booster! I also love hearing the variety of birds in the morning; it's a great way to start the day.

Yes, Jude, the bird song is lovely! Yesterday Mr. D and I went back in our woods and sat by a creek. I sat there and closed my eyes and just listened to the sound of the water. So peaceful.

I too enjoy the longer days Jude and dill. Love watching the flocks of geese fly over and I see the doves are back, still waiting for the robins though.

My baby is here!! Young Daughter has come home from college for Easter weekend, and is staying with me last night and tomorrow. My heart is full!

I am enjoying the increased birdsong too.

D2’s surrogate lives far away in Florida. The clinic is in Las Vegas, Nevada; so she will fly there to be with her surrogate during the transfer procedure.

No wonder your granddaughter needed help with buying & planting flowers, Ginger!

I love it that you & Mr. D took the time to enjoy your property together, Dill.

ABC, all my family lives close by. It's fantastic but keeps me a little too busy sometimes. Going to gdaughter's to watch the littles while she works today. This might be her last day for awhile. Fingers crossed! The 5th wheel is still here. I'll probably consign it with camping world.

Slo, so glad that your daughter is there to keep you company and boost your spirits. It sounds like just what you needed!

Dill, we also have a creek that runs through our property. It's so peaceful to sit next to it and listen to the water as it tumbles over the rocks. Even though my house isn't much, I feel incredibly lucky to live in this area with so much beauty surrounding me.

Ginger, yes I am finally settled back in and it feels so good to be home!

The peepers (tree frogs) are singing loudly and it sounds amazing; yet another sign of Spring.

Creeks and ponds sound so much better than concrete and asphalt, country living is hard to beat!

This is the gorge the water come down from. I didn't venture in, but this gives you a general sense. It's what we see when we sit in our chairs that we leave out by the gorge. I wish I could play the sound of the water, but I haven't figured a way to include short video.

I have a busy day ahead of fun and meal prep. It's supposed to rain tho, so looks like we'll have to be inside.

Good morning Cafe. Hope everyone is having a good saturday so far. We went crabbing yesterday at the river and caught 2 keepers. Fun day with neighbors cooking sausage and eggs on the grill. The traffic is getting lighter as more and more people are heading north. We have 3 weeks left before we head north. Wishing everyone a good and sober day. 24 more please and thank you.
