How was your xmas day Satz? Did your mam come over?

Mam came over - and Sister , hubs & my niece.
We had great fun & my dinner was DELICIOUS- even if I say so myself and I did forget to do the celery :haha:

My folks, inlaws and sister in law. 10 and dinner was delicious too!
I even poured lots of wine, which wasn't hard, but there were times in the day that I had to fight my brain.. It was fine. Big game of charades later on, great craic

Well I've been eating crap now for about 2 weeks but outdid myself yesterday.
Anyway the jolliness is DD. She is on 2 weeks holiday & determined to fill each day with effin jolliness :haha:
Since becoming sober I prefer the quiet life ............

How did young Satz cope yesterday?

Young Satz coped brilliantly.
The comparison between him yesterday & last year was amazing.
Clean, dressed well, talkative.
Had bought us all lovely thoughtful presents and he went for a run at 10pm last night- :egad:

Apart from that the drinking was low key -'cept for BIL & Mr S who drank beer.
I decided not to have wine 'cos that was young Satz tipple-and none of them drink it anyhoo only BIL.

Look at how much more interesting young Satz was?

I was thinking the same thing on Xmas eve and yesterday. Yep, Im not the hilarious drunkard that cant get it together to mime 'milking a cow' but I can focus on a conversation and not shut up talking so I fill up my glass.

thinkin about this -- don't worry bout the eating -- you and everyone on the planet -- so we are ALL 5 whatevers heavier -- everything is relative ya see!!
NOW -- re. the daughter -- now you know I get cranky when we deem we need to make excuses why we aren't drinking? and it does melt my head tbh - I don't think I've ever made an excuse -- if I felt I couldn't be straight out about it - I just say 'I don't drink' and go silent -- NO ONE can argue with that silence....
HOWEVER -- I would lie to the daughter bout all that hilarity and jolliness for two weeks -- for two reason -- 1# I COULDN'T DO IT -- COULDN'T COULDN'T COULDN'T - AND 2# -- she will never understand that you prefer the quiet life -- she will interpret it any way SHE likes and usually it'll be a negative about you (I'm speaking in terms of my lot if they attempted enforcing jollity on me) -- so yeah -- in those circumstances I would HAPPILY develop a (what's the one you can't fix with antibiotics? -- a virus?) virus and have such a sore throat etc etc.. and that the only thing that helps is snuggled up in a cosy small sitting room with my laptop..... SORTED????!!!:welldone:
