Re coke. On talkback radio once, a fella was told by his doc that his liver was not looking good, so he'd better stop boozing. The fella said he doesn't drink AL and never has. But he'd drink coke a cola every day and the doc traced his disintegrating liver condition to the coke he'd been drinking over the years. It does have some hardcore chemical properties. Plenty of alternatives out there folks.

He's doing ok on the surface- but old habits die hard and I'm just hoping he's turned a corner.
Got a glimmer of his old self today- moody & non-communicative hope it just the weather - ( which by the way is SHITE)
Now don't get me wrong - I don't keep nagging at him -I mainly leave him in peace - but today he was quite tetchy.

Anyway nothing I can do if he drinks - nothing !

I'll have a coke maybe once a year. Why can't I do that with booze? lol.

Well Gman, it's because booze alters your mind and numbs you. Why do I want to be numb? Cause G man, you have worked out that you're a bit of a lazy fcker who could sit around most days drinking and dreaming. You have also worked out that you're a bit scared to feel and deal with the reality of life's compliments and rejections which happens when you put your talented arse out there.

But why aren't I getting numb now? Why am I putting myself out there at long last? Because G man, you are realizing that feeling things, all the ups and downs of life is not so scary. In fact, feeling and dealing with daily life warts and all has much more to offer you than sitting in a chair drinking all day being boring and wasting your life. Feeling and dealing is turning up all sorts of little gems and buried treasure. And the buried treasure you are now seeing knows no limits. I can throw away the map.

He's ok. One week until he goes in. I know what you mean about turning a corner.....I'm scared that it's still down in there. He still drinks occasionally. Glass of wine or beer. No problem and he's done. I don't know if I'm putting my feelings onto him or if he's really feeling this way..........But, I worry that I see that look in his eye....any excuse for another, the wanting another.....
I hope that I am wrong.
