Morning everyone. Going to see if hubby wants to go get breakfast since son is here and can stay with mom. We'll probably be back before either one of them are out of bed.

IJM - congrats on 21 days. That's how to do it....ODAT. Glad to see you here.

Chouces - we know a professional violinist (Nadja Solerno-Sonnenberg) and she cut off the tip of her left pinkie and had to have it reattached. Scary kitchen accidents.

    Ok - I'll be back

Good morning! Got up early and went food shopping. Why have I never done this before? The store was stocked and empty. Working a lot next week! Off for a quick run as I want to start the new year off right. Check in with you all later,

Hey all - I'm having a whatever day. Got up & took hubs out for breakfast. Son stayed with Mom. So, we got out for a couple hours. Came home and took down the Christmas tree. Swept & mopped the dining room. Trying to order a new computer from Dell which is turning into this big ordeal. No money at the moment so going for the zero finance and they keep wanting to call me & do it over the phone. Geez - just let me place the order online.

Mom is still in bed so I better check on her. She woke up earlier and had been having a bad dream so she went back to bed.

Hi everyone I just put blueberry muffins in the oven and waiting for them to finish.. The house smells amazing. I love that my senses are coming back! I cut off the tip of my right index finger. The nail and everything. I was home alone with my girl and tried to put it back on but got really sick to my stomach. But.., it's grown back.. I of course had to go to the emergency room.. And go each day for about a week, before I could change the dressing myself. There is nerve damage, but it's also getting better. Our bodies are amazing. I love violins too. Nora did she actually sever her finger on the strings! How scary when she uses her hand to make beautiful music. I know the feeling of a whatever day.. Taking down the tree is always a little sad... And looking at finances in January is just brave!

Pauly - I was just telling my son today that I would babysit all the time when they have kids. LOL Enjoy Louie - they grow so fast.
Thanks about my Mom. We are so blessed to have her with us. I know she doesn't feel good quite often and she is so confused.....but, she always has a smile and an I love you. If only I could be such a person.....

Choices - the muffins sound really good. Yummy. It is nice getting back to things that just got swept out of the way so I could drink.
Wow - your poor finger. The violinist that I was telling you about cut her pinkie when she was cutting onions one Christmas.
In 1994, Salerno-Sonnenberg badly injured her left pinkie while chopping onions in the kitchen; she was making Christmas dinner for friends and family. Her fingertip was surgically reattached, after which it took six months to heal. During that time, she refingered pieces for three fingers and continued to perform.
My experience was never with numbness...on the contrary I always felt a great deal of pain. The two nerves on each side of my finger were reattached first and then the skin and rest of the finger. Since the reattachment did not occur until 3 to 4 hours after the accident I had a sever scar tissue problem to deal with for over a year. The only advice my doctor gave me was to massage the area constantly and wait.

We drove son to work this evening over by the beach. Thought it would be fun to get Mom out for a bit. We stopped at In 'n Out for dinner. It ended up it was a brand new facility that opened up and there must have been 3 employees per every customer. Anyway, we were siting in there and a woman came in and sat down. She was only having a drink - coffee or soda. I couldn't tell for sure but it looked like she was down on her luck. Maybe not homeless but didn't seem like everything was ok.
So, I came up with this brainstorm to just slip some $ to an employee and ask him to get her dinner. Well - I am such an idiot or maybe just naive but come to find out, that is against their policy. I had just planned on quickly passing the money and keep on walking. By this time, the employee had gone and got his manager. She is explaining that they cannot do that. If anyone gives them money, they put it immediately towards their own charity for children. By this point, I am so embarrassed. Earth - please swallow me......I finally say can I give her the money myself. The manager looks at me and says if you want to do that out of your own generosity. I just thanked her and walked back into the restaurant. Walked up to the woman and put down the money and said in case you are hungry. She picked it up and said what is this for - I just repeated that it is in case you are hungry and I walked out. The employee that I had originally asked said he was sorry and thanked me. I just laughed and said that I didn't know there were rules.
I feel so stupid because it makes perfect sense. They do not want people panhandling in front of the restaurant. And I can definitely understand that. I just didn't think about it like that. I just saw someone that looked lonely and hungry and might appreciate a little food. Never saw it as someone going there to get handouts.
I have been planning on making some bags to give out anyway. Raincoat, granola bar, etc. This was the kick in the butt to do it instead of thinking about it.

Ouch! I can't believe she still preformed! Mine actually didn't hurt at all. Only when they changed the bandages. And I just have that odd feeling when you cut your nail too short and wait for it to grow.. Just annoying. The cut was so clean, I don't have a scar at all.

Pauly that is so gross about the cheese! Haha.. I would have done that myself at 14... Or.. No, I wouldn't now.. I guess., unless I was super stressed and rushed.. No, I wouldn't.. Haha

                      Hey guys!
Nora, I guess that does make sense but that wouldn't have entered my mind either. Good for you, such a kind heart. I gave the girl who cuts my hair and extra big tip for the holidays and I thought I was all that!
Pauly, do your clients give you exta for the holidays?
Feeling anxious this morning. Anticipating a long week at work. Plus my former co workers mother passed away. Hubs and I will go to the wake tonight.
Have a good one. I'll check back with you later!

Good morning, peeps. Sorry I haven't been around much. I'm running around trying to get all my ducks in a row before tomorrow.

I cut off a piece of my finger tip while cooking one night, when Mrs. Fen and I were just starting out. I couldn't find the piece of it, and tried to just wrap it up on my own, but blood kept coming through the towels/paper towels, etc. I eventually had to go to urgent care and they stuck some gel foam on it and wrapped it up. I have a scar where it was.

Nora, that was really sweet of you to do. I sort of DO blame them for not doing as you asked, however. If it was kept on the down low, I don't see how panhandlers would be showing up.

There's a guy who stages elaborate pranks and posts them online. In one of them, he spied a couple of homeless dudes sitting in front of a McDonald's. He phoned the restaurant from his car and told them he was the chief of police and that he had a couple of "undercover" guys disguised as homeless dudes out front. He asked the employee to bring them coffee and a couple of meals. In the video, the employee comes out with the bags and coffees and surreptitiously places them next to the men and goes back inside. Slowly, the men turn and look at the food, then help themselves. : )

Pauly, maybe you should leave some decorations up, so you feel better? I know my Christmas shrub is still decorated- I'll throw some hearts on it for V-day.
