Hazel I am a big fan of Don Williams too. So relaxing. I'm from Louisiana here in the States. We're getting ready to celebrate Mardi Gras. That's huge drinking party, but I've discovered it's even more fun for me not drinking. No regrets or hangovers. No matter how far you go or how fast you run, you can't get away from yourself. ....said at an AA meeting. It stuck with me.

The start of a new week free of AL. So happy to be in this place, and my husband has quit right along with me. We went for dinner last night for some authentic Italian pizza, so nice, and drove home clear headed and happy to not need a drink.
Living without AL is a lot kinder on your body and thinking, and even getting more uninterrupted sleep is easier. I intend to stay this way and continue to build on making my life content and peaceful with the right choices. I know it's only a week, but it feels so much better than any other time I have quit as I feel happiness every day.
Can't speak highly enough of living from the inside out, as already mentioned.
I wish you all the same feeling of success as you travel your own journey.

Hi Hazel,
I discovered the three principles in July/August and it has changed my life, so much so that I came back to posting after a long gap here because I wanted to share it.
Ultimately 3Ps has taken away the fear of addiction. Instead of being afraid of the substance and relapse I now feel it is simply my choice and it will never overwhelm my life again.
I am in New Zealand also.
Carry on the learning Hazel...it gets better and better.

Thanks Kuya, great to hear from you. Your 3P thread was the catalyst that changed my life so I am very grateful to you. Read everything and watched the videos you put up and it all just became clear. I wish everyone could get it, it's so much easier to live once you understand where happiness really comes from. I've been searching for it for my whole life, and who'd of thought it was just inside me. So peaceful, so true, and I don't have to do anything. Nothing at all...hallelujah!
Thanks for sharing my friend.

Was there a particular 3P talk that really affected you Hazeleyes? I'm so happy for you that this understanding has made such a big difference in your life. It has in mine also, but not so dramatically or quickly. You are so fortunate to "see" it. All the best, NS

As well as realising happiness comes from inside the last few days I have also been a bit down and accepted that this ALSO was coming from inside. This knowledge gave me the patience to sit it out and wait for it to pass, not to even try and tackle anything important if I didn't have to. Before I would have gone around whinging and vomitting ill will on everything and everybody then have to mop up the mess at some later date.
My down mood is a sign my thinking is off but I don't need to analyse myself to death, just let it be.

Hi Hazel,
What an amazing and heart-warming journey you are on. I am so happy for you. It is wonderful to hear. And YAY!! to DH for being such a rock and completely supporting you. That is brilliant.
Hazel hang on tight to that pink cloud. It does just keep getting better and better. My life is so rich sober. It may be super busy and insanely stressful, but I can cope with it all because I am AF and learning to be calm!
3P’s are really helping me too. I just find myself keep thinking back to it, and applying it. It works! Who would of thought!
Kuya, I can’t thank you enough for sharing the 3P’s. It’s such a simple concept but so life changing. It’s really difficult to try to explain it to other people as it sounds so obvious!
Here’s to a super Saturday every one
Huge Congratulations Hazel for 1 week, what great place to be:heartbeat:I can not alter the direction of the wind,
But I can change the direction of my sail.

Thanks Nosugar, Kuya, and the lovely Autumn for you comments.
Tiredness has overwhelmed me this weekend and I suffered a bad migraine. This was confusing to me as I thought I was doing so well being at peace, but I spent lots of time on the laptop and wham, in came the headaches.
Anyway, AL has left the building (so to speak), and we a both happy to be leaving it behind. No cravings just fleeting thoughts that I let pass like clouds in the sky.
Hoping the tiredness is just part of the recovery and trying to stay positive and happy.
Bye for now

Sending you huge  and :heartbeat:, stay strong Hazel, this will soon pass and you will be feeling better.
The first 30 days can be an emotional rollercoaster. Tired, stressed, then more tired, then eat cake and sleep. Or was that just me? Then right back to feeling amazing and ready to take on the world, after a nap. Just listen to what your body needs. We have been drowning it out for too long with booze and neglected it terribley. I loved having a license to sleep! Rest, repair and re-hydrate. Magic! Make sure you are drinking enough, we don’t seem to pick up a glass as often with just juice in it!
You are doing brilliantly and a Yay! to hubby too. Hope your migraine has gone when you read this and you are back on your fluffy cloud of calm xxI can not alter the direction of the wind,
But I can change the direction of my sail.
