Good morning lovelies from a slightly deaf JC.
You are entitled to your opinion and if its how you feel then voice it, Molls.......don't go keeping your opinions to yourself............they're a bloody good starting point to a discussion.
I not sure if I'm in a unique position as I did all my AAing, white knuckling, counselling and I can do this myselfing before I finally posted here. I also have the volunteer place a couple of times a week which keeps me in touch with where I was and how far I've come and I get hugs.
I'll bet all of our eyes lit up with glee when after trawling the internet found a site that would help us have a few glasses now and again.............the ultimate dream.......but by taking a bunch of supps, medications (some of which are just not available or even banned in some countries) it was the only way we could do it. How many of us have the time or money to do that and by the way MWO has evolved its as clear as the nose on your face it doesn't work.
MWO is convenient...........I'm sitting here at 9 in the morning in my dressing gown..........lovely.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Good Morning..
So how was the gig JC?
I suspect the online Vs face to face discussion could go on and on. Bottom line for ME (''she is SO self centered'') is that I am still here on a Saturday morning with a clear head and very grateful to be able to say that.
Plus I would HATE to have to drag myself to an AA meeting in this weather! Last year I was trying to find AA online meetings, but didnt find much - I suppose that's not their strategy.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

What I think I know is that there a many levels of the descent in the alcohol pit.
Some are sitting on the rim for years and may stay there - others went in head first, while others slowly slide down.
I'm a slider. My son is a jumper.
There is a stigma associated with problem drinking that drives people to seek an alternative solution to telling the doctor or admitting to anyone. MWO is AA in the true sense of the word -a group of alcoholics that are really anonymous.
If folk are serious about getting sober and MWO is not helping - then they need to get other help to face up to their problem.
If it is working - then stick here with the winners.

And yes this weather is not for sitting in a draughty church

I think re the party.....I am conflicted because "normal" peeps go to parties and enjoy them. I feel abnormal cos I am happy in my warm little house with my doggers and my hubby and chatting to peeps online. I feel distinctly abnormal sometimes

That is what I tried to tell the group the other night - we are a minority us recovering alkies - we've over stepped the mark of what is socially acceptable - and are abnormal - of course they do not know my history & thought I was having a go at them.................. FFS!!!

No, not the getting drunk bit but socialising with people. And I loathe going out at night if I am honest. Happy to meet a friend in the day, go for a walk. But night.....I loathe it
Now that the alcohol is not there to numb the pain - I can't be arsed
But I will go if there is yummy food ....... I'm not daft
