The Social Interactome is a research project by the International Quit & Recovery Registry that examines how social networks can be used to help people in recovery from substance addiction.
The International Quit & Recovery Registry is part of the Addiction Recovery Research Center at the Virginia Tech Carilion Research Institute. The principal investigator of this project is Dr. Warren Bickel, Director of the Addiction Recovery Research Center. This project is funded by the National Institutes of Health.
Participants in the Social Interactome will be a part of an online community with other people who are in recovery from substances themselves. They will have access to recovery resources like online meetings, news stories and learning modules which will help them learn more about themselves and their addiction.
The Social Interactome is a confidential 16-week study through which participants will be compensated up to $280 based on the extent of their participation.
They still need more participants before they can begin.
