Nothing much going on here this weekend. Poor Mom had a terrible problem with itching in certain areas of her body. It was really bad on the backs of her hands, particularly the left one. And very bad on the fronts of her ankles. We had gone and sat outside in the backyard. I think it was where the sun touched her. I noticed when we were out there in the sun that her left hand wasn't covered and that area between her leggings and socks were bare and that they were in the sun. She had a hat on but when she turned her head a certain way, the left side of her face would get a little sun.
She was in the sun for a VERY short time because I made her move to the shade. But, I can't think of anything else that it can be though. :questionmark: This has happened before with her hand and we never put it together with being outside.
Over the evening and night, I tried cortisone cream, cold washcloths, a different cream. Finally insisted that she go lay down at about 7:00 pm so that I could give her half a benadryl. That didn't help at all. A couple hours later, I gave her the other half. Then about midnight I ended up giving her an entire pill. Well, they had the opposite affect and she was awake almost the entire night instead of being knocked out.
Then about 3:00 am she needed to go to the restroom. I had been trying to figure out why my nightlight had gone off and realized the electricity was off. I got her into the restroom where I had a couple little fake candles. Thought she was sitting down and I walked away back into the bedroom to try to get things situated to get her back to bed when I heard a banging noise. I ran in there and she gotten confused and grabbed the hand rail frame I have around the toilet and pulled it out and was trying to walk with it like it was her walker. It took me a few minutes to get her to listen to me and let go of that. Hubby ran and got the flashlight and we got her settled. But, then she was so awake that she decided to get up. Hubby was an absolute doll and let me go to bed and sleep at that point.
Itching was much better today. She had some on her hand this evening. She has had it on her hand several times, not only when out in the sun so I want to get that checked out.
I was helping her shower today and got the water a little too cold or not where she wanted it or something. She yelled at me with all 3 of my names First, Middle, and Maiden Name Last. :rotlf: She has been persnickety today which is so unusual. When she says no she means no kind of day. And, if I would ask her to drink water or something, she would give me the look. I just had to start laughing at her when she was pulling her pouting, mad face. Then, she just start laughing too. I love her so much.

Aww Nora, she is so lucky to have you! You must be exhausted! I would've thought for sure Benadryl was the way to go. I have taken it when I couldn't sleep, as per my doctor, and it sometimes did the trick. Anyway I thought the full name thing was just too funny!
Did I miss the photos? I would love it you posted some here or even FB, if the kids don't mind. The ones I did see were beautiful!

Red, I love grocery shopping too! I always have. Funny thing is, my son enjoys it too, the girls not so much. That's on my agenda for the day. As far as meal prep, I'm not that ambitious. Although this week my family wants rice and beans Puerto Rican style. They just loved it when we were there. A first for me but I will give it a whirl.

Ne good luck on that exam. My sister is a nurse and I work with them and nursing students. I know what a huge deal it is

Rusty, back to work for you? You do seem to enjoy what you do. I you just seem to have so much balance in your life.

Pauly, I'm so glad your doing better. Can't help but think of you whenever I'm in the dollar store. Hubs and I popped in yesterday. While on vacation hubby had on a pair of dollar sunglasses and they just cracked and the lens popped out. He hadn't touched them or anything. We were hysterical, quality merchandise!

Fen, hope your feeling confident and good today.

Mama, what is going on with your house? I know it's a tough subject, but I was just wondering. I saw a pic on fb of your family, soo cute.

Mr v, check in. We've all been there. I love hearing from you!

AG sounds like you had a good time shopping! I will be seeing my great nephew Saturday and I bought him a little Easter basket and put toys in it. I must admit it was soo much fun.

Well off to start my day. Hello to anyone I missed. I'm so happy this thread is busy these days. I love you all. Happy Monday, we can do this!

Hey Nora - Wow, just wow. I guess you would get used to it but that seems like a lot of stress with your mom. You are both handling it so well, I'm impressed!

Ne - hang in there with the studying! It is so hard (for me) to be self-motivated and stay focused. Good luck!

pauly - Mondayitis for sure. I am going to try to up my exercise this week (again).

I had a great weekend, celebrated 17 years of marriage yesterday. Hubby surprised me with a dozen red roses and a lovely card. We usually save our money for our trips not presents or cards so it was wonderful. Nice steak dinner last night too (no wine : ) . . . I hate Mondays with a clear head but really really hate them with a hangover. So glad that is not the case today.

have a great day in your part of the world! AG

Dang - ya'll have been chatty.
Date night was seafood, a few beers, and a cigar. Bret loves his Saturday night cigars. And I smoke too(because I am bad like NE) but I ONLY (ha ha) smoke 5 or 6 per day.
Fenny - property management boils down to three basic principles...people, price, product. So I go in, analyae the situation, and start there. The owners (forgive me, but they are from India) ignore the law, let anyone and everyone move in and fix nothing. So - I created stringent qualifying standards, hired some people, and got some apartments ready to move in. We collected 66K in rent in January and 102K in February because I put a pitbull of a manager in there that doesn't play....poor thing!
I broke the sacred rule and did not go to Nana's for dinner. I have tweaked a muscle in my neck and I just simply did not want to go. I treasure her, but she is "persnickety" too and wears me out. I am blessed to have her and hate to complain here. But there.....I said it. You all cherish your parents and take such good care of them....so do we.....but she can be frustrating.
Skwerly, I have two hands and two feet in the air waving for you and your strength. Now, please come pick me up off the floor!!!
And I agree Nora....you did NOT do nothing all weekend.
NE - good news on the other forum!
Rusty - just love and hugs for you babe.
SHIT......I just realized it's hubs birthday tomorrow......better think of something to do.
                    Bacina bit
                    I love you all
The house is a cloud that hangs over our head....nothing new going on at the moment.
I love my family more than alcohol.:h

My friend that I posted about on FB is my beloved former supervisor. He had an acute attack of pancreatitis from alcohol and now has been diagnosed with congestive heart failure. He's 39. So sad
Fenny - keep us posted on your boy toy!

Hey all, Doing OK, just got really busy, a quick out of town trip to the in-laws who were throwing a going away party for young Mr V is moving to NYC, Then back to prep for a colonoscopy (nuff said!),
and had the procedure this morning. First time check, at age 59, put it off long enough, supposed to be done every 5 years starting at 50. Everything seems a-ok. Whew. It really was no big deal for those of you putting it off.

Nora, sorry about your mom, it does sound like sun poisoning, there really is such a thing. Benedryl gets me all hyped up as well.

Liz, have to read back about the vacation, sounds like it was a good one.

I’m usually the cook in our house, about 90% of the time, but yesterday, when I was on a clear liquid diet for the prep, Mrs V spent the day peeping meals for the week, It smelled sooo good, and I couldn’t eat a thing GRRR, just go out to eat would ya! LOL

I drank again last week, Thursday, St Patty’s day. Damn. Why? Because I’m Irish and a pint of Guinnes sounded good. It was, but the two that followed and the whiskey chasers, not so much. Pissed off at my self, but back to day three.
                        Happy Anniversary, AG!

Hi to everyone else, Red, Rusty, Ne, Pauly, Fen, SK, Mama, and anyone else I missed.
Thanks for looking out for me

Ahh Mr V . Hang in there! Glad you got through that colonoscopy! I work in the endoscopy suite a a large hospital in the area. The prep is the hardest part. I've had patients tell me the dog food smelled good.

Mama, you deserve a night off from nana. You do so much for everyone, you need a little time for yourself.

Happy anniversary AG. Roses, he did good!

Pauly, what was so funny about the glasses is that they just literally cracked while he was wearing them. We were just walking and the lens popped out. It's all good, he got two more pairs yesterday.

I made cauliflower soup tonight! Dang, it was amazing! That's probably it for my culinary skills this week. Mark is at school. Hubs is off to a meeting tonight and CJ is tucked into her little bed. Enjoying a little alone time, just me and Lucy.
