Hey there folks. No time for a complete read back but I too had cervical issues. Rusty, I had a great deal of relief from physical therapy. I used a combination of pain meds and traction. Thus far (3 years later) I have a very moderate discomfort. I do a lot crazy stuff i.

Mama Bear, thanks and how is your pain level today?
Techie, I start physio on the 13th after a long wait and I'm hopeful. The brace is helping a little and yes, you do a lot of crazy stuff!
Having a bit of tech trouble with MWO today, couldn't get on and when I turn the page to the next I get a "do you want to leave this page" message. Techie I wish I had a nanogram of your knowledge. Did you work for a high tech company or is it self-taught.Enlightened by MWO

Hello everyone! The weather has been glorious here in Central Florida this week (apologies about bragging to those of you who was hit by this week's Arctic blast). Don't return to work until Friday so I went kayaking with some friends on a tributary of a local river. Sure beats being passed out in bed.First, a man takes a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes the man. --Chinese proverb

I wasn't offended by any of the posts at all,I came here feeling pretty damn depressed and defeated and I WOULD have been offended if nobody offered any help, what really can people say to someone who has already picked up? Pour it out just pisses the drinker off haha,I do have to work on myself, the smoking is something I've been half-assedly trying to quit(didn't want to jeopardize my quit!) I think it would help heaps in a lot of aspects of my life, anyways luckily the stomach stuff passed quickly for all of us,hubs even took the day off which he hasn't done since the day Louie was born so it was bad! Happy birthday to your hubs Liz,everyone have a good oneI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:
I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!

Happy Birthday, Mr Liz. Hope that you had a good time. It's fun to spoil them on their birthdays. We always put up balloons and streamers. LOL
Pauly - glad you all recovered from that stomach bug.
I went into a grocery store after work today. Just had to grab a couple of items. As I was walking in, I thought to myself how many times I had gone into that store to buy a bottle, smuggle it into the house when I got home, then hide it somehow. Today there was no craving, no temptation, nothing. I have realized that I have a different attitude or something about AL now. Climbed so many obstacles and fell so many times on this path. Maybe I have reached a different path on this journey? Maybe time to start working on the other areas in my life that have gone downhill during the past years. I have already started - cleaning closets, going thru boxes of junk in the garage, etc. But the best part is that our family is closer. I am trying to tell hubby what I need instead of holding it all in, trying to realize that his bad moods are not against me but because of him - either his pain or his own short temper, taking time for me. Enjoying time with my Mom (even though she sleeps most of the time, she is right here next to me. )

Nora - you are such a silly. I am so proud of you and everyone here and this has become the place I retreat to to find joy.
No, I had to term another person and it had become MAJOR drama, and I want to hide. But I am working with my head held high and I know this too shall pass. My boss wanted me to take the high road and give her two weeks notice, which I did ( against my better judgment) so I am stuck with gossip and BS for the next week or so.
SK - my pain is getting better.....no more pain meds for me, even though I would love to use them to escape.
And no drinking.
Love and hugs to all.....you all mean so much to me.
JanI love my family more than alcohol.:h

I just wanted to comment on Nora's post and to congratulate her on her over 8 months AF. I am not too far behind you, Nora, with almost 6 months myself and I can relate so much to your post. Especially about the no temptation, etc., and smuggling in the bottle and then hiding it. Also, I have so much more energy that I, too, have been cleaning areas of our home and store that really needed a good going over but I didn't have either the ambition nor the strength to do it. And the fact of you and your husband taking care of your Mom. You certainly wouldn't have been able to do such a good job if AL was still in the picture. Keep up the good job - I'm following you.... :horse:For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Thanks Stirly! Yes - it is different now. What a change.
Another thought that occurred to me is that I have just a little over 100 days until it's been a year. That totally seems doable. Getting thru the first 100 days seemed insurmountable. And now here I am looking forward to the next 100 days. What a difference."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Hi Pauly, glad you're here.
Glad you're feeling better. I got a new script today and wish I didn't have to. The xrays showed scoliosis in the compressed discs, but they didn't cause me any pain before but I do have a high pain tolerance, I've had a cat scan but now we're going to do an mri as it shows up the soft tissue better. Oy vey!
Nora, I had a big smile on my face when I read your post. You definitely have a wonderful attitude and something "clicked". I'm so happy for you.
Ne, looking for a job is overwhelming, but it can't be harder than the meds forum or successfully
setting up a new website.:goodjob:Enlightened by MWO
