    Hi All,

Working long hours and wanted to pop in and say HELLLOOOO!!!

AG-Great job on distracting yourself!! Wow, you are really making progress. So happy for you,:yay:

Techie-a cross-country move...what a chore...fingers crossed for you and sending good vibes of positive energy your way, sweet man. I remember when you FIRST posted...your wife was going to leave you if you didn't quit drinking. I know you went to rehab and have been sober ever since (GREAT, GREAT JOB) and I just wondered if you and your wife got back together? You sure sound happy!

Off to start my day! Have a happy Hump Day, friends!

Good morning! I am home today, switched my day off as tomorrow is super busy!!!
Nothing much new around here and that's fine with me.

AG, I loved going on college tours with my kids. It was fun taking day or weekend trips and spending one on one time with them. Our youngest is graduating college in 3 weeks :egad: where has the time gone? It is bittersweet.

Rusty are you working close to home? I'm glad you are feeling better. So this problem with your discs just flare up on occassion?

Techie, I cannot imagine moving cross country. I know it was difficult with my inlaws when they were in Florida. Im sure your mom will be happy to be by you. How old is she again?

Nora, mama, Skendall and everyone else, how are you guys doing? Mama, how is fen doing? Does she miss us?

Anyway off to start my day. It's another beautiful day here. Gonna pop some allergy pills and head on outdoors. Happy Wednesday!

Techie...much love and hugs babe, for what you are going through.
Still insane at work, but good things are happening. Better than being unemployed, right?
How are you feeling sweet Rusty? I know the feeling of Ativan well. I take something else to help me sleep. Hubs is using my old Ativan and we may have an issue when it's gone.
AG - do you work outside the home? Getting my boys through high school was a major stressor for me. Shit, everything is a stressor, for that matter!!!
Fen is ok. Not saying a lot. She was on break at work and actually had her phone on for a second.
Hi Nora and Lizz and SK and Ne.......I am here.....I love you all
I love my family more than alcohol.:h

Mama, glad to see you popped in. No go as lie I was stressed when my kids were in high school too. Well, the girls, anyway. I'm so glad I lived through that. I need to own that I was drinking, but I was trying to relieve the stress!

Had a really good day. Spent some time with my parents doing some paper work. Daddy just kept hugging me and telling me he loves me  then spent a lot of time outside, it was beautiful. Caught up on a lot of things around the house. Tomorrow is a busy day, so if I don't check in don't worry about me. I'm feeling pretty good right now.
            Sweet dreams, love you all:hug:

Hi everyone. Mama sounding b and I as the aussies say for busy and interesting! I think that's your mode for when it's all good.

I went to physio this a.m. and therapist is thrilled with my progress and so am I! I was afraid I was pushing it a few times, but it's all good. She added 2 more exercises so I do six of them 6 x a day. Gorgeous day here and lilacs are blooming and smell so good.

(Also SK, just a simple thought for you to consider: when you get bored and get on the computer and get on my way out on go to the "medication" section of the forum, please try to remember that it simply does not make your light shine brighter by trying put some else's light out - and no, your pain medication will not help with that either -but the glow of the moon might.)

Skendall-so glad to see the PT is working. The exercises my
Doctor gave me really do help....I have to be more vigilant about doing them. SK-you were so right about the hydrocodone dosages being half their strength now due to doctors being under such scrutiny for prescribing them. There is no way I am doubling the pain meds so these exercises are going to have to work. And you add much wisdom AND light to my life and our lives here, despite the opinion of our unwanted visitor.

SK, that physio sounds like a lot of work! 6x a day . . . wow. I worked with a physical therapist for an arm and a shoulder issue and it helped a lot. Keep it up, great job.

Rusty - I get it, it is so hard to be consistent. I am the worst which is why I'm so impressed with SK!

If anyone has some time, which sounds like most of us don't, here is a great article about why it is so difficult to change behavior in humans.
Change or Die | Fast Company | Business + Innovation

If you don't have time, the gist of it is that you have to address the whole person (spiritual, physical, mental, support of peers, etc.) They were looking at research behind why heart disease patients don't change their diets even though they know they have to do that to live without pain or sometimes even to live. "90% of patients two years after coronary heart surgery have not changed their lifestyle . . ." Hmmm . . .

Mama, Nora, Liz - thanks for the reminder that raising teenagers IS stressful in and of itself. Deep breath.

                      Stay healthy! AG

                        Hi all....

Raising teenagers is no easy task. LOL

I'm glad the pt is helping. Mom had hers today too.

                        Have a great Thursday.

AG - I want to check out that link. I know that there was something different for me. Maybe because I had been working on my spiritual/mental side?

Hi Nora and AG...AG, I forgot where you live...is it Michigan??? It's almost 11:00 PM and I am still percolating...maybe it's because I indulged myself in Thin Mint Girl Scout Cookies. Oh, they were absolutely divine. HAHAHAH!!

Nora, I forgot to say thank you, thank you, thank you, for all your sobriety links you posted yesterday. I must check them out. Have you ever read The Fix? It's another sobriety website that I get on my phone and I really enjoy reading the articles about recovery! It always features celebrities who have fought hard for their sobriety and have maintained it, as well as celebrities who have lost everything because of addiction....very timely articles.

AG-yes, I will make time to read your link you just posted. Thank you so much.

Hark, was that a yawn that just escaped? I sure hope so...I have to get up at 4:00 AM....Rusty O'Clock as they say on The Army Thread!! Hahaha!

Good night Nora, Good Night John Boy, Good Night Jim Bob (circa "The Waltons"....1975ish). LOL

Pauly-I miss you but I know you're happy on The Abs Threads...lots of good people over there. :-)

Sweet dreams, Nora, AG, Skendall, and other beloved West Coasters and Mountainites.

AG, my daughter was a breeze in teenage years, son not so much! I do sympathize with you. He turned out to be a spectacular adult though. You feel as if the teenage years will never end.
