Happy May Day everyone! I just got back from a lake cleanup with Eco-Action Central Florida. Found some interesting stuff including a spent condom (glad someone is getting some action because I sure ain't), a syringe and needle, and a Suboxone wrapper (buprenorphine - the medication used for opiate withdrawals - reminded me of the good old bad days). I did my good deed for the next few days. I think in all we collected about 15 bags of garbage and recyclables. I'll post a picture once it gets emailed to me.

Checked in on a friend I was in rehab with yesterday evening. It was disappointing to see he had been drinking and was stoned out of his gourd. He tried to get me to take a hit off his bong. He justified it by saying, "You didn't have a problem with pot. What's the big deal?" The big deal is if I get stoned and my judgment is impaired, I might get it in my head that a drink won't hurt, and I don't want to go where that one drink will lead. It was disappointing to hear him say, "This is just something I'm going to have to struggle with the rest of my life." Especially in light of the fact he totaled his truck after dropping Ecstasy and drinking at a party. He clearly hasn't hit his bottom yet.

Anyway, it's a beautiful, but toasty day here in Central Florida. I think I will take Miss Petunia to the dog park for some running around and swimming after I shower all this lake grime off of me.

          Have a great day, everyone.

Happy May! Quiet, cool, rainy Sunday. Just hanging out. I should be cleaning, but well, maybe later. This weather just has me feeling kinda drippy.

Pauly, thanks for starting May. I was wondering if anyone would remember.

Aihfi, sorry about your friend, but good for you for standing your ground. Your sure found some interesting stuff at the cleanup. It's sad that that even needed to be done. Enjoy walking the dog. I think Lucy needs to go out too, thankfully we have a fenced yard which makes my life way easier.

Enjoy the day. I'm ready for a great May!

AG - get for you for making today AF. What a lovely way to spend the day. I myself am being a slug again. Just a VERY few household chores and the rest of the time reading and relaxing. Just heading back out to sit in the sun for a bit.

aihfl - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. That is hard. Good for you for recognizing what YOU need to do.

Pauly - I put a picture up under yours. Is that ok? You are sound great. Thanks for thinking of the new thread cause I sure wouldn't have. LMAO

Mama - hope you can relax today.

                    Hi,
Pauly thanks for getting us started and you sound great.

I love the 1st of May. When I was a child in the UK dancing around the maypole was a very nice tradition and it was a very happy one.

Good luck Mama on the housework and it's very therapeutic - if you like cleaning. Bending is still an issue for me and cleaning but it WILL happen.

Nora, enjoy yourself relaxing today you certainly deserve it.

Aihfl, good way to do your civic duty. Sorry about your friend, that's is so disheartening.

AIG, hope you meet your goal.

Lizz, yep the rain makes me feel drippy too.

Hey Rusty and Glassy I hope you are both well.

Glassy my g/daughter's full name is Vivian Grace and she is 7. Her mother, my dtr posted pictures of Vivian in the Easter dress I had sent her. It was white with flowers growing from the hem upwards and I sent her white shoes with frilly socks. In the pic she was wearing black tights and trainers. I so wanted to email my dtr and ask WTH? but I didn't and glad I kept my mouth shut. If she was going to be running around looking for easter eggs, etc. I'm sure her father insisted on some kind of cover-up. Oh well.

I want to think up some fun slushy drinks. I was standing in the juice aisle yesterday and saw V-8 juice which made me think of blood mary's. Then I saw a post on facebook of a fruity drink. I forgot to buy the v-8 juice but I will. I love that with some tapatio hot sauce, black pepper and celery. Yummy. So, I used to (years ago, when AL was still fun) make strawberry daiquiris or margaritas. I'm going to make something slushy like that. Anybody have any recipes? Ice, banana, strawberries?

Nora, my sister makes fruit smoothies all the time. I'll ask her for some recipes. Are you on Pinterest? That's a great resource for slushy drinks. Incidentally last week my sister worked out and was making a healthy smoothy before a wedding she was attending that afternoon. I guess she was in a rush, went to clean the immersion blender and accidentally turned it on. She sliced up her index finger pretty bad. Five stitches later, antibiotics, painkillers and a huge bandage on her finger, she made it to the wedding with seconds to spare. She said she should've just bought donuts on her way from from the gym instead. FYI, unplug appliances, before cleaning

Liz - that is so awful about your sister. Thank goodness that she didn't lose her finger. I am on Pinterest - good idea. I've never made smoothies so I'd like to find something tasty & healthy. But, I also want just a hot day refreshing drink. Actually, lemonade sounds wonderful. I haven't had that in a long time.

SK - your g'daughter has a beautiful name. I'll bet she looked so cute even without the cute shoes & socks.

Rusty - how are you? How is the pain? I'm trying to find your last post because I don't remember what your next step is.

Pauly - I really wanted to go to the dollar tree today but had to get home. :cuss:

Well - back to doing nothing.
