I want to think up some fun slushy drinks. I was standing in the juice aisle yesterday and saw V-8 juice which made me think of blood mary's. Then I saw a post on facebook of a fruity drink. I forgot to buy the v-8 juice but I will. I love that with some tapatio hot sauce, black pepper and celery. Yummy. So, I used to (years ago, when AL was still fun) make strawberry daiquiris or margaritas. I'm going to make something slushy like that. Anybody have any recipes? Ice, banana, strawberries?

Thanks for the link to the drinks, I'll check them out. We've been freezing half cups of OJ to make slushies for Mom. So, this will give me a variety.

Pauly - sorry that Louie is sick again. Son is sick here and Mom has been blowing & sneezing. We are having that same weird weather of hot and then cold.

I am here but swamped with work and long commutes EVERY day before I fly to Detroit on Wednesday. MRI is Friday. Pain is manageable...Nora thanks for asking.

GLASSIE!:heartbeat: How exciting that you will have a new granddaughter. Aren't the baby clothes fantastic?? I LOVE shopping for baby clothes!

Liz-that is horrible about your sister...and there is a scene from a horror movie where this guy forces this woman's hand into the garbage disposal and turns it on!! I really am paranoid about disposals because of that movie.

Pauly, thanks for starting us off this month. I loved your comment about your eyelashes. I can't live without them now. Hahah. I don't allow any FB pictures to be taken of me without them.

Good morning everyone! Hope everyone's day is off to a pleasant and sober start. I'm off today so I allowed myself the luxury of the 8am AA meeting. I can't usually go because I start work at 8:30.

Liz and Nora, I am so paranoid about disposals. I hired a college kid to do some painting in my townhouse while I was getting ready to sell it and the bonehead cleaned his brushes in my kitchen sink and gummed up the disposal. I was SO paranoid when I was fixing it I turned off the breaker to the kitchen AND disconnected all the electrical wiring before I put my hand down it. And I still felt paranoid!

Glass - congratulations on the granddaughter. Must be an exciting time for you.

Pauly - I can certainly relate about the summer heat. Just be glad you live in a place where you don't have stifling humidity added to the mix. November through April are great, but when it comes October and highs are still in the 90s with a 1,000% humidity, people start to go a little stircrazy.

Anyway, got to do some housecleaning today. Should have done it yesterday, but that lake cleanup left me wiped out. Forgot to mention I found several unopened cans of Bud Light. No one wanted them, so I did the most appropriate thing one can do with Bud Light. I opened them, poured them out onto the ground and threw the empty cans into one of the recycling bags.

Hi Techie Aihfl,yeah,I don't think I could handle the humidity at all! When we get summer rainstorms here the humidity hits 30 something percent and I'm dying,ugh,made chocolate chip cookies last night,I can resist store bought but not these babies,soooo good,someone stop me

Aifhi, I know what you mean about the humidity in Florida. It is brutal. We have spent 20+ years visiting my inlaws in Florida and it is humid. I do think people down there get used to it, though. My mother in law didn't like to turn the air conditioner on!

Techie, how is mom adjusting? I can't imagine it would be easy for her.

Pauly, Las Vegas heat is brutal too, but it's a dry heat, lol! IMHO, hot is hot!

Rusty, I'm sorry you're still in pain. I thought you were feeling better. Commuting is probably just going to exacerbate the situation. I hope not. Keep us posted about the MRI.

Workout today kicked my butt. My shoulders are so sore. Have I mentioned how much I love my Mondays? I need to go back to work tomorrow and relax. Off to get the last of my things done before bed. Sweet dreams:heartbeat:

Lizz, I forgot to mention that when I was about 14, my sister did the hand in blender thing. Parents weren't home and I remember having to take 2 buses to see a doctor. Traumatic for sure.

How are you Rusty? I'm doing much better but the remaining pain of the muscle tear is still there. However, still doing stretches religiously. I know you went for pain management, and do you have any muscle/disc treatment for your neck?
