Happy Thursday everyone. Yesterday was a soggy, dismal day, but the weather will be wonderful until next week when the 90s return with a vengeance. When I got up this morning, it was 60 degrees this morning when I let the dog out to pee, and today's forecast high is 80. In May, I'll take it. I remember when I was a graduate student at the University of Iowa looking out a classroom window at the beginning of May and seeing snow flurries outside. I have the day off today so I have no plans except for staying sober and probably going on a bike ride in the late afternoon to take advantage of this wonderfully cooler weather.
Have a good day everyone!

Mama Bear, are you doing ok? I saw on the channel 4 website that charges against Nana are pending. I'm sorry you and yours have to go through this.First, a man takes a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes the man. --Chinese proverb

Aihfl....we have heard nothing about charges pending. The accident WAS NOT her fault. There were cops and witnesses and they ALL said the young man zoomed through the light and hit the rear of her car. She is angry and distraught. I am not watching the news...it pisses me off.
The insurance company wants to offer a settlement because the young man had just gotten married two weeks ago, and had a blended family with 5 kids. If a jury gets hold of this it will be merciless. I am so sorry for the young man, but the press is WRONG.
OK.....done venting.
I was St. Augustine all day at a conference and chose not to go to the happy hour and dinner. I left and drove home.
Lizz - sorry you are in a bad place, honey.
No, I was not in the office when the SUV crashed. It was a Saturday.
Gonna go chill...........................I love my family more than alcohol.:h

Mama – I am so sorry about Nana. That is so awful. I am sure that this is so hard on her. Sending lots of positive thoughts to you all.
I googled the news. Yes, they are definitely making it sound like it’s her fault. It is a terrible tragedy and I am so sorry for his family. But the news is playing it up this way on purpose. So upsetting!
Pauly – I know what you mean about when you need to talk that nobody is around. It does happen that way. Good on you for going over and to another site and reading around at those times. That is what I do too.
Techie – How are things going? Is your Mom getting settled in?
AG – how are you doing? Is your husband back home? Glad that you were able to go to band rehearsal but don’t overdo it. Hope you are feeling better.
Liz – I’m so sorry. That is a lot that was loaded on your plate. Fantastic job at choosing to cuddle with Lucy instead of a wine run. Have you talked to your Dad again? How did your Mom react? I hope that things turn around for your sister’s family right away.
Glassie – That is so fantastic about your grandbaby. Do they live near you?
aihfl – how’s your new doggie doing? Can’t think of her name right now……Miss Petunia? I think it’s fantastic that you have each other.
SK, Rusty – how are you both feeling? You have been in my thoughts

Watching Andy Griffith show......
Otis comes in after a drinking binge to head to his cell. Andy asks him what is going on that it's not even Saturday night. Otis said that he's celebrating his anniversary. Andy asked what anniversary. Otis replied - my 27th anniversary of my first drink and it's been true love ever since.
Not exactly word for word but you get what I mean. Ha, ha - how funny, town drunk. Doesn't seem so funny to me anymore."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

mama bear I'm so sorry about your Nana. Most news journalists these days are horrible, blood sucking leeches. They don't care about the truth, just getting an interesting story. Chin up honey. :hug:There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Mama-I am stunned...I don't know what to say about what happened to Nana! I feel so badly for her and for your family!! How is she holding up? You sound strong as ever....even though a car crashed through your office's front window! OMG! What next? So glad you are a strong woman.
Nora-thank you for asking whether I was in pain or not...sweetie. I'm really not in pain anymore thanks to the Gabapentin...it's just that my left hand...my writing hand....is numb and tingly.Ha, ha - how funny, town drunk. Doesn't seem so funny to me anymore.
Glassie:love:I am sure your granddaughter will inherit your kind heart and compassionate spirit. Lucky girl to have such a lovely and classy grandma. That's why you are known as Classy Glassy.

Good morning everyone! Nora, thank you for asking about Petunia. She is doing just peachy. She's taken to hunting geckoes, so her personality comes through more and more each day.

Another beautiful day in Central Florida. It was 54 when I got up this morning and slept with the window open for what will probably be the last time until November. Too bad the evening was ruined by a loud Cinco de Mayo party going on a couple of blocks away. I really hate being a buzzkill, but when that loud thudding bass from the techno music they were blasting was still going on at 11:45pm, I finally had to have Orlando's finest shut it down. The irony is it's not even a holiday in Mexico save for one state, which makes Donald Trump's inappropriate Cinco de Mayo tweet yesterday all the funnier.
Took advantage of the great weather yesterday and went on a 20 mile bike ride with a friend. The wind was vicious, but we still averaged almost 13 mph, and there are several long, slow grades that make this ride a real challenge. Today is shaping up to be another beautiful day, so I'm going on a walk with my ex-wife when I finish work this afternoon.
