Did everyone have Wednesdayitis today?? So slow.
Has anyone heard from SK? I so wish she could get out to her daughter's.
Hope everyone is doing ok.
AG - how are you doing? You sounded better yesterday.
Pauly - I love you. I'm glad we can make each other laugh. :welldone:
I must have missed Liz. When did they leave?"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Morning loves. I was busy yesterday.
The drama has begun with Nana;s car crash. One of hubs best friends, who is an attorney, told us to expect to be sued. He is 90% sure that 100's of attorneys are reaching out to the widow of the motorcycle right now.
We have been advised to take all Nana's assets out of her name. She has two houses, a car and retirement savings. Please understand that I feel for the family, but I don't think it's right that an 84 year old woman that was not at fault should be wiped out financially.
So that's my world right now.
Good job on your health report aihfl!
I had a physical yesterday and it's time for my colonoscopy, mammogram (smash o gram) and I have a suspicious spot on my nose that is probably cancer and will need to be removed.
Ok...after all that joy...I am off to work.
ps...hubs went to bar last night and I stayed home and watched The Vikings on Amazon Prime. I highly recommend it......fascinating and full of twists and turns!
I love you allI love my family more than alcohol.:h

Aww mama, I'm so sorry. My FIL had an accident on New Year's Day and the other people sued the pants off of him. Sad as he should not have been driving. Hope it all works out for you guys.
Went to the dentist and I'm numb but it's all good. Gonna miss you guys!

Oy, what a day…the shit really flew yesterday and today. Literally. Sewage came exploding up out of my tub drain last night. I had a plumber out for about 2.5 hours this morning and just now finished the cleanup (tons of bleach). BLECH:cuss:
It is gratifying to know, though, that I can handle these crises without a drink "to take the edge off."
After work, I'm meeting a group of friends for sushi, and I have a date lined up tomorrow night - a fellow teacher. It's great to be too busy to drink.First, a man takes a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes the man. --Chinese proverb

Happy POETS' Day Everyone!
Sorry I have been MIA but it has been one LONG week!
Mama-I am SO sorry about Nana's situation. It was clearly the motorcyclist's fault...the police reports WILL help. I mean, to me, it is no different that someone in a car who follows you too closely and then rear-ends you, right???? How is ANY of this Nana's fault? Of course, the poor woman is being tried in the media, and the media is SO sensational (in a bad way) these days it is downright embarrassing. I am so glad I am not a TV news reporter anymore.
Aihfl-Holy Sh%t!!! I cannot imagine the mess...so glad you had no urge to drink and congratulations on your 7weeks+ of sobriety!:yay:
Nora-I have not heard from SK but she has been posting on the Smoking and Alcoholism thread and she mentioned that there was a spot on her lung that was detected. I am praying that it is NOT cancer. She is very dear to me so I will track her down the best I can.
SK-if you are reading this, please know that you do NOT bring people down here....no one thinks you give yourself a pity party all the time...you have long-term sobriety and you set a great example for everyone here. I miss you!!!
Hey kids, I have work to do before work....so everyone have a great Friday and hello to anyone I didn't mention.:-)
