Pauly - I meant to say earlier that hubby & I have been wanting to plan a trip to Vegas anyway. I really want to meet you and he wants to go back to the Atomic museum.
Liz - I was never able to watch Schindler's List. I have read a few biographies and I can't even comprehend that much evil. The last one I read 'Sidonia's Thread' was just heart-wrenching."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

I read Cowboy's thread today and it was just so discouraging. I do not agree with his attitude at all.
But, then I read my post from yesterday where I mentioned reading back on all the old PM's and posts that have been so supportive and encouraging. So, I am happy again.
So - to make it very clear - this thread is ONE STEP AT A TIME. If you are AF for 50 years, you are welcome here. If you are AF for 1 hour, you are welcome here. If you stumble, you are welcome here. I don't know much, but I've been collecting tools to help me and I am happy to share them. So, don't ever think that this is a closed thread. This is a thread for support and encouragement. We are going to do this."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

As far as I'm concerned, all of you (and me) are doing the best we can. And if that doesn't meet with his expectations then he can go and just get ******.
Now, where were we?
Oh yes, dinner tonight. And G1 just rang to ask if they can bring their dog. And I have a very anxious cat.

Well said, Glassy! Brava. :-) Cowboy's nonstop pontificating just makes me want to grab a 55 gallon drum and puke. He might find that that his know it all attitude might come come back and bite him right in the butt.
Nora- please ignore his condescending attitude. It seems to me that he feels superior when he can impart his wisdom on women here. Funny that he doesn't treat men the same way. Just saying. Please don't let his condescending and judgmental post steal one more minute of your holiday weekend.
OMG...the original Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory! I can watch that movie over and over and over again! Ha ha! I agree… My favorite scene is when Violet turns into a gigantic blueberry and has to be rolled down to the the juicing machine to be squeezed. Even my mom still refers to the Blueberry Girl now and then. Ha ha !
Pauly-Italian food-yum!
Off to bed now so I hope everyone had a great Sunday.

Glassie - I was thinking today about your dinner. I kept trying to come up with different combos for you. LOL I have finally told my family to stop worrying about me being vegetarian. I obviously can always find something to eat. LOL I laugh at that line in Notting Hill where they are having dinner and the woman is a fruitarian and she said the carrots have been murdered.
Rusty - I've got the scene playing over & over in my head. Funny. lol"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Good Morning!!! Happy Memorial Day to my friends in the US!
Nora-that scene from Notting Hill was hilarious!! I also can't get that image of Spike out of my mind...where he's in ultra-tight scuba gear. Ummm....looking at him...he was giving directions without using a map if you know what I mean.:egad:
Lots of paperwork to do today before I leave for Kansas City so I hope everyone has a fabulous Memorial Day and I hope we are all taking the day off from our insanely busy schedules.
Lizz-aw you sweetheart...I was not offended or upset when you made the joke about overtime. You made me laugh. ;-)
Let's all vow today to NOT let overbearing, pompous people take up space in our brains for free, OK?lease:

Red-how are you??? How is your sweet little puppy? Let me tell you again how jealous I am that you have a Goldie puppy. There is a place near here called Williams' Tree Farm, and every year at Christmas, they have an entire pen of Goldie pups for sale. Even if you aren't interested in buying one, you can pick one up and play with it all day long and they don't care. It was so tempting because one pup licked all my make-up off and then fell asleep on my shoulder...oooh...it was tempting not to take her home right then!

Happy Memorial Day. On the fence about going to the parade as the weather is questionable. Moving the BBQ indoors to the dining room it's just my sister, her hubs and one of her kids. Small group but I don't feel like a whole lot of people. CJ s boyfriend will be here too. What's everyone else doing? Mama is at the lake house and posting beautiful pictures. It looks so peaceful there.
Nora we finished Schindlers list last night and it really was a horrific time in history. It was hard to watch. I love Nottinghill and maybe I'll watch it today as well.
Check in with you all later. Enjoy the day!

Hi! Just checking in . . . I did take the Nal yesterday. Had too much wine though. Funny, it didn't seem to affect me the same when around a bunch of people.
I'm going to keep on keeping on!! Nora, thanks so much and thanks to ALL of you for your warmth and compassion. I'm not going to read any other threads today. Just staying here.
We are headed back out to the lake property in a bit. I will have my Nal in my pocket again and will be sure to take it. The book is fascinating and is giving me a lot of hope. It takes about 3-4 months to work. I'll also keep a drinking diary to record my progress.
Sorry, this one is all about me today but wanted to at least say hi . . . I hope everyone doesn't EAT TOO MUCH again :congratulatory: We might have to all watch the Violet episode at the same time!! Ha!
