Re: Do You REALLY Want To Be Sober?

Amen.

Good Friday is a state holiday in Ohio. I appreciated your brief retrospective on the shift in focus. It was the same for me growing up. Christmas was considered the most important Holy Day. But it has definitely shifted to Easter now. I think around here the emphasis is put more on the Resurrection. But I do remember as a child we were to pass Good Friday from noon until 3pm in silence in remembrance of the Christ's crucifixion. I am grateful now, looking back, that my parents thought it important to raise us with a strong religious foundation.

Sorry for derailing your thread ABC - but my good friend is in Ohio at the moment dill on holiday  she says it's beautiful & nicer than our winter! Small world we live in :heartbeat:
To see a world in a grain of sand
And a heaven in a wildflower.
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.

Not to worry LS, no derailing going on that I can see!

Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.

Yes, it beautiful in Ohio today, Lost Soul! Glad some egg hunts were scheduled for today because tomorrow is supposed to be a soggy one.
abcowboy, if you wouldn't mind sometime could you tell me how to take parts of a post and insert it as a quote in a reply? I used to know how but seem to have forgotten as it has been a long time since I've done it. Thanks in advance. And don't worry about doing it until after Easter!

[ QUOTE=dill ]if you wouldn't mind sometime could you tell me how to take parts of a post and insert it as a quote in a reply?[ /QUOTE ]

So, you can see where I quoted you. The first thing is to copy the part of the post you want to quote. Then you'll see how I tried to show how to "quote" I put a space between the square brackets at the front and back of QUOTE=dill and /QUOTE You remove those spaces when you actually do the quote function, and paste the copied text in between the first and last "QUOTE" functions. I just did that to illustrate how to do it. You can do that as many times in your post as you want. Hope that's as clear as mud lol. Go ahead and practice as much as you want right here... Happy Easter!

It’s so nice to wake up Easter morning and enjoy it without a hangover! It’s a beautiful Sunday morning here, a little bit below freezing, a beautiful blue sky and the sun is shining off the foot of snow that we got making things even brighter.

I couldn’t even begin to count how many times I woke up with a hangover on Easter Sunday’s past. The noise the kids were making over their Easter goodie baskets just adding to my headache! Pouring a big slug of Bailey’s into my morning coffee in the hopes it would settle me down till after lunch when I could have a few beers to start feeling good again. But for the grace of God, that’s exactly how my day would be going today. So nice to look back on those days and know that it will never happen again.

Well I did it, got through Lent without having a hint of chocolate! Not going to overdue it today, but am definitely going to partake in some of the chocolate Easter eggs Bubba got for me lol. A tradition that my dad had was he always bought mom a poinsettia at Christmas and an Easter Lily at Easter. When dad passed away, Bubba and I carried on that tradition sending mom a poinsettia at Christmas and lily at Easter. When mom passed away, I kept up the tradition with Bubba. Just another way of remembering my parents and showing my love and appreciation for Bubba on two very important days of the year. Happy Easter everyone, may God’s love shine down on you even if you don’t believe….

abcowboy, thank you for your quick and thorough response. I haven't had time to try it yet today due to Easter activities. It truly is a blessing to wake up hangover free on Easter. Thank the Good Lord. Have a lovely Easter with your family.

Well abcowboy, it was very clear and I managed to get it right on the 5th try! LOL! You explained very well but I failed to include the forward slash in my efforts, even though I did clearly see it in your explanation! When I finally realized I was leaving that detail out and made sure to include it (on my 5th try), it worked like magic!

What's really cool about it is that you can use it to quote anyone!

abcowboy....thank you SO much for showing me how to use the @ symbol! I really appreciate it! So glad you had a lovely Easter. I did, too!!! I have the best family in the world, and I am so lucky they have forgiven me for the havoc my drinking caused in their lives. I've given my Mom an Easter lily every year....she never tires of them. Yours is beautiful! Hi dill!!

No problem Rusty! I try and stay on top of all the site improvements. I think if we don't learn and use them, the new management won't continue to offer us the upgrades!

It's amazing how dear family becomes to us after everything we did to them when we were drinking!
