Hey guys.
Nora, We are having a yard/garage sale at church so I will be there all day. You're doing great Nora! Keep it up.
I'm home alone. Everyone's busy but me tonight. Kinda lonely and ready for someone to come home. Watching the hallmark channel and it's bringing me down too. Managed to get some things done that I have put off way to long. Maybe I'll go read a bit. Have a good night guys.

Oh Lizzz...I am so sorry you are down! Oh don't watch the Hallmark Channel if you don't feel like bawling her eyes out. Try to watch something funny. Do you have any funny movies to watch? Can you go rent a funny movie? Cuddle up with Lucy… That's what I would do if I had a dog is cute as she is. Hugs sweetheart!

Hey Liz - good luck with the sale tomorrow. Sorry you're feeling down. Yes - watch something funny. That helps. I just got up and with no music danced all around the living room being funny. The things that I'll do to make Mom & hubby laugh. ink::dancegirl: And laugh they did.
Sometimes I deliberately put on a sad movie and will just sit there and cry my eyes out. Helps relieve the pressure sometimes."Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

A friend at work mentioned something that stuck with me - she was talking about teaching her kids to cook. She didn't really go in & cook with them. Just make sure they had the basics and leave. She doesn't ever remember a time with her Mom teaching her to cook, or a good memory in the kitchen. Just her mom trying to show her something and then getting more and more agitated until telling her to never mind that she would take care of it herself. Then just shoo her out of the kitchen
Just last week she mentioned to me that when they come in from sailing (she races with her cousin, my boss's daughter) her aunt & uncle are out there cheering them on. She said that was so nice that she couldn't even imagine her parents doing that.
That's sad to me. I don't remember much of my childhood. Just that it was happy. But, I do remember being with my Mom in the kitchen and having fun talking while we cleaned up after dinner. I have been blessed, that is for sure.
So, that is why I don't hesitate to make a fool out of myself around here. I want to make mom happy. (That and the fact that I'm weird :biglaugh"Only I can change my life. No one can do it for me.".....Carol Burnett

Nora – you are such a wonderful daughter. You deserve all the happiness that’s coming your way at the moment.
Red – I really hope you’re ok and your flatmate has gone.
AG- It is SO not bragging to let us know you’re having a good day. That’s the news we all love to hear. Congrats to your son and well done for keeping on trying. Just keep trying to have one good day after another.
Pauly –I’m so sorry about Kelly. That must be so hard and I really hope that she comes through it OK.
Liz - Lucy looks deevine (and as though she knows it)!
TMH – Hi! Nice to meet you! Why is it mandatory to use a cart at your golf course? Do they make that rule to ensure nobody holds up people playing behind?
Rusty - I'm sorry I think I missed something about you going away. Are you back home?
We’re having some seriously wild weather here at the moment. It’s a good day to stay inside.
And i: on another note, while you're all comparing how many steps you’re doing, I’m doing about 50 a day. :battered:
So for anyone worrying about doing less than 10000, then no more of these: :shakingno: and lots more of these :welldone: please!Last edited by Glass Half Empty; June 4, 2016, 11:23 PM.There's two ways of looking at the holes in your shoes

Ha ha Classy Glassy, very funny post. How is your foot doing (I think it was your foot . . .)? When do you get the all clear? That must be really hard. You are right, 8,000 and change is ok. And, I will just be grateful I had another good day today. The Nal is helping so much, it has been one week now.
Nora, I had a vision of Julia Louise Dreyfus on Seinfeld when you mentioned dancing across the living room. I'm SURE that is not how you dance, so pardon me. SO glad you are happy and having fun.
Liz, sounds like you will be busy tomorrow so that is probably a good thing! I cannot get bored, I hope you find some fun people that stop by the sale and have some interesting conversations. And, make some $$$!!
See you manana - AG

Hello- still struggling with the house mortgage. Where they come up with these things is beyond me.
Sometime ago there was a woman who posted regularly on this thread I think. She had unexpectedly lost her dh, and started dating. I felt so sorry for her. Is she still around?
Glass half empty- yes, sure it's the 4 hr time limit. There is quite a distance between each hole. Wish we could walk at least later in day. Some golf courses in SW FL allow it after a certain time but think it is for playing just 9 holes.
Yest after mammogram, car oil change, Wal Mart tote shopping (for moving) & then dealing with the loan people I went to FC to lift wts, ran/walked just 2 mi. Came out of restuarant last night & Fitbit vibrated. Yay - 10K steps. Now going to go for long walk b4 it's too hot, clean house & watch PGA golf. And during the PGA my drink of choice will either be nonalcohol beer or V8 with lime.
Have a great day!The pain of discipline is less than the pain of regret.

Hi everyone and thank you Nora for mentioning that I would be stopping by here and welcoming me! I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys! I'm Frances, 50 years old, two kids (son just graduated high school and daughter is a HS sophomore) and they keep me busy mostly with their sports. I've been around here a very long time, mostly with starts and stops but for the latest time I've been here, just about every day, for the last 2+ years - I'll have to look back to see exactly how long it's been. I used to drink every day and was obsessed with it - I would drink every chance I could get - if I had an hour to kill before a game started, I'd go get a drink. Heck, I would sneak a drink on my drive home from work because I had a long commute (ugh I hate admitting that). I would drink earlier and earlier in the day especially on weekends. It got pretty bad. I stopped completely for 9 months and since then I have been drinking on occasion. Less than once a week. And when i do, it's one or two. I do know that this approach does NOT work for most people and that abstinence is really the way to go - but it has been working pretty well for me.
I hope that is OK with you guys - I read all areas of MWO and on AF threads I get a lot of inspiration and if I post, which is very rare, I refrain from talking about drinking since I don't want to tempt anyone. let me know if there is any kind of preference about that here.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend! I'm heading out soon to watch my daughter's softball games. Nothing much else planned this weekend but I do need to get some things done around the house - mainly laundry, which is truly my nemesis.
