        A Big Welcome to IamMary!

        !q-lcome to IAmMary.

        Mama, Happy Anniversary.

Lizz, remember we only have one day and that's today, Yesterday has gone and tomorrow isn't here. Quoted from AA and the Dalai Lama. Staying in the moment is just less stressful and I spent hours/days/months worrying about what never happened.

I have really gotten better in the last couple of years regarding the worrying. Because you are right...it serves no purpose. Especially with all the crap we went thru last year with DS.
But, it's the same old thing.......you are only as happy as your saddest child. So, I'm getting better with the worrying but not always possible.

              Evening all
Was thinking about you all and thought I would pop in and say hello.
Lots of changes in my life. Passed the 1 year mark of losing my husband. Never thought I would be alone at this point in my life but here I am.
I am still dating. That is a challenge too. I can totally understand why these men are divorced. OMG
Been dating a widower for a little while now. We are very different but still good together at times. No clue where this is going if anywhere.
Staying busy with volunteer things. Keeping up with my dogs is also a huge job.
I tried to read back but became overwhelmed..so I will just read a bit I guess.
              Missed you all!!

Dottie - so glad you checked in! :heartbeat: are you still dating Jon? Not sure if that was his name but he got serious right away. Great that you are volunteering.
How many dogs do you have now?

                  Hi Nora
Yes still dating Jon...he has cooled off a bit so that is good. We go out several times a week and walk a lot too.
I have 5 dogs still which is something he is so not used to so that has been an issue. I think he got infatuated because we both lost our spouses and he wanted a wife replacement when he realized I would not just step into her place it made him step back and think but he is still here.

Hi all . . . well, if anyone needed the blankie fort today you would have noticed that I was hogging it. Ate all the popcorn. We lost a 16 year old boy in a boating accident in our community last Sunday and it has hit me hard. I didn't know him, but as you know I have a kid around the same age. I was actually out on Lake Michigan with my dad on his boat in the same general location right before it happened. So so sad.

My girlfriend left this morning and I spent the day sleeping and reading on this forum and others. Has anyone else ever had a day like that??!! I certainly can't have many as obviously my family is usually here. But, I did NOT drink the day away. (TBH, I don't drink during the day so its not a habit.) I was just super lazy. I finally rallied around 5pm, got out of my jammies, and mowed the lawn. Walked the dog. Then cleaned my home office which took awhile. Ended up getting over 12,000 steps all after 5pm.

Sorry for the rant . . . I think I am better now. Life is short, hug your kiddos!! Love u guys - AG

Hey AG...I am a pro at being lazy when I have alone time. I need to refuel my batteries.
Sorry about the accident, that sounds awful.
Not much to report......work, home, kids...very quiet anniversary. I gave Bret a quarter!! Woo Hoo! We will probably just celebrate Saturday night on date night.
I had to terminate some one yesterday and it was awful. She cried and cried.
Nora - how is your son and his bride doing these days?
Back to work...I am fighting with Adobe Acrobat....I hate .pdf forms!
                      Love you all to bits
I love my family more than alcohol.:h

Well hello Dottie! Good you popped in. Can't believe it's been a year already. My FIL was looking for an instant replacement wife, too when my MIL passed. He never did find anyone. I don't know maybe it's just me and I'm not in that position but I think he just pushed to hard and scared some "prospects" away.

AG, how very sad about that young man. I don't usually have lazy days but it's 9 am and I'm still in my Jammie's playing on my computer, does that count? I did drink during the days and things did not get done. Don't even start with that nonsense, ugh! Off to run on the treadmill in a bit. Of course because I'm home today it's overcast, so no outdoor activities here. Erin is off for the summer and she is going on a cruise with the inlaws on Sunday. She is going shoe shopping today and course NEEDS her mommy's help, so I will tag along. A new pair of shoes does the heart good!
                          Have a great Thursday guys!

Afternoon, this is a busy spot! Lots of reading, catching up on every ones lives..

Nora, Fr Ted is a cult comedy about priests from the 90s, bit like an Irish Faulty Towers.
The housekeeper was famous for her tea generosity.

Sounds like a perfect day AG, good for you! Had my first 24 hrs alone a few weeks back when my lot went camping (did I read back yours are scouts too??). I was quite concerned about drinking and being in the house on my own. Another first ticked, and that was a big one in my head, so special badges for us!
(Very sad about that young boy )

Off on a kids shoe trip too Lizanne. runners (sneakers?).

Hi to Dottie, Mama Bear and Paulie.

                            Thanks for the welcome everyone.

Mers - Thanks for the link! Funny - I wish I could get that show.

AG - I'm so sorry to hear that awful news. That is just absolutely heartbreaking. Blankie fort is staying up and that's for sure.

Mers - when we're having a bad day, we put up a blanket fort and huddle in there with our coloring books, popcorn, cookies, etc. It makes us feel warm & safe & loved.

Hit reply too soon. Anyway, I'm in the blankie fort today too. Mom woke up while I was getting ready and asked me when we were going home. I explained to her that we were home and that she moved here. She said I know where I am but when am I going back to my home.
That hurts my heart. Trying to stay upbeat & positive but needed a few minutes to mourn what is happening to Mom.
