One Step at a Time - July 20016

Thank you NoSugar for finding this wonderful picture to start us off in July.
Let's take a step towards having a great July!

(Sorry for the earlier confusion.:topsy_turvy: I thought it was July 1 & I started a new thread using my phone. I planned on coming back & adding the pic later. I'm taking my shower & all of a sudden the light bulb went on. osteroops: Eek - it's still June. So, that's why we had an early start)

Being one day early I can understand. It's the 18,000 years I'm more concerned about.

I so hope everyone is doing well. I will be out-of-pocket for about two weeks. I am off to Alaska with the love of my life. See you all when I return. Of course I will try and get a look see at the site when I'm not being chased by bears. Love you all!

Hard day today. We took Molly to the vet. She can't put any weight on her back right leg and her left isn't much better. She isn't eating. Molly is a malti-poo and about 9-1/2 years old. She has patellar luxation and it has advanced. We looked at the x-rays and her knee caps are way off and the arthritis is so bad. She also has an enlarged heart which is laying in an unusual position. We brought her home with pain med, anti-inflammatory and muscle relaxant. If her pain has not improved by the next day or two, we'll be taking her in to say goodbye.
They could do surgery but we have decided against it. We are not going to put her thru all of that. After we got her, I found out about puppy mills, etc. She had parvo & got so sick just a few days after we got her. We had her in the hospital and would go visit her. The woman that sold her to me told me to bring her back & she'd give me my money back. Seriously! So, she could kill my baby! I did end up getting my money back but of course the vet bill was way more than that. Sorry - just reminiscing a little bit. :subdued:
Anyway, we have known about her legs since she was little and decided at that time against surgery. Whether that was the right decision or not, we'll never know. But, she has been loved & spoiled. When I come in from work, she always greets me with her wagging tail and bringing me a toy.
So, we shall see how she does in the next few days. ray:

But, thank you all because when I got on here to post, I saw your posts. I laughed. So, thank you for being here. I hadn't even realized I typed that 20,016. I'm never starting another thread from my phone! I couldn't figure out how to delete it. :rotlf:

Safe travels Techie & AG. How funny that you are both in Alaska right now.

Oh Nora - I'm so sorry about your poor little Molly. But sorrier for you, that you may have to say goodbye soon. Gee, life has really been throwing some hard ones at you for a while now, and yet you've still been strong enough not to drink at any of it! You really are an amazing inspiration. :heartbeat:

I'm sure that little Molly knows how much you love her and she's been very lucky to have found her way into your family. I believe very strongly in 'making the tough decision' when pets are in so much pain. It just doesn't make sense to put them through the pain and trauma of surgery unless they're still young and will have a long, healthy life afterwards.

I hope the rest of 20016 is better for you! (sorry, thought that might cheer you up a bit!)

Hey, Techie, have a great 2 weeks!
Nora, sorry about your dog not doimg well. I am not a dog person, but a lot of my family are and know how much they care.

Traveling the 401 in Canada was its usual nightmare, and had a hard time finding exit for airport. Then since school just got out many families were on flight to FL. Lots of screaming, crying young children. Normally, it doesn't bother me but 2 nights of little sleep made me extra sensitive. Took cab home, very little traffic on I75 and have decided will not complain again about it. LOL. Took dh to,p/u his car at mechanic (1 hr RT), got a few groceries, got held mail, and was all unpacked by 4:00p.
But then dh & I sat outside on lanai with a drink. So guess July 1 is start date after all. June was better than May, and July will be lots better than June!

Hey all - looking forward to 3 days off. Having a big block party on Monday. Last year, I manged to get drunk (beers down the street & hidden tequilla bottle). Not this year.

Mama - Joan Jett is good. How about Pat Benatar? I can see you rocking out to her songs.

Mama, I'm with Glassy, I could so see you doing this! You go girl. Have fun at the lake.

TMH, July will be a better month! Hmm, I seem to remember 175 in Florida! Still so much a part of me.

Aww, Nora:hug:. We do love our fur babies. Lucy has the same thing with her hind legs. The vet suggested surgery when she was about a year old ad I went with the advice of my girlfriend. What if I spend all this money on the surgery and she gets hit by a car tomorrow? I'd rather wait and see if she really does need it before I subject her it. My gf dog did end up having to have the surgery on both legs and it set her back $$$ big time. Lucy is still doing ok and just turned 10. I give her glucosamine. Praying that little Molly does great on the meds and you guys are able to keep her!

Pauly Las Vegas weather is all over our news here. Hope you're doing ok down there. They make it sound horrible. We are under a tornado watch right now, you know, cause it's time for me to go home!

Anyway if I don't check back in tonight, hope you're all enjoying this holiday weeken
