Flats and Dansko clogs for me most of the time - a real fashionista I'm NOT!

Hi, Molly and other troopers. Seems like things have perked up around MWO, which is really nice to see. The Newbies Nest is busy with people who are very eager to be done drinking and who have just the greatest attitudes! It is very inspiring and reminds me how happy I am to be AF.

I've had a house-full of people this last week. I've (mostly :wink enjoyed it and again, am so glad not to be resenting their presence because they'd be interrupting my daily drinking.

So many reasons to be grateful! xx, NS

Hi NS, the site in general appears more busy, its great.

Enjoy your full house.. Are they staying long? (cringing memories of resenting guests staying cos they were not drinkers )

They'll be off tomorrow but they've been here for a week so that's ok - it has been a very nice visit. They are non-drinkers (including the breastfed one :wink.

This weekend is my 40th HS class reunion . I was a nondrinker then so my current status probably won't even be questioned. And, really, I don't care anymore whether it is. It's great to not feel defensive about the subject anymore. And like has been discussed here before, I think the only people who react negatively to nondrinkers are people who themselves are uneasy (or downright scared!) about the subject. I clearly remember watching non-drinkers with envy and so wanting to be like them again. I am happy to say that I never made them uncomfortable about it, though, or pressured them to drink! That's just such rude behavior.

40 NS!! wow, enjoy it. I imagine a lot of people wont be drinking, if driving etc. I never really noticed non drinkers until I wanted to give up myself. It took me a while for the penny to drop that even those drinking were not planning the next 3 drinks, but just enjoying the moment.
Ive a wedding afters on Saturday, my family, the side who are genetically predisposed to a few extra drinks..:egad:

off to bed - night Army.

                      Morning Molly.
Thoughts.. Delighted, chuffed and more determined than ever. .
Not having a hangover, being able to (and wanting to) stroll down to the pool at 9pm with the kids, not having a separate shopping trolly for bottles of wine, not willing the air hostesses to move their trolly quicker and guard my plastic warm wine from waving kids arms and legs, not rushing back home from the day to get that first drink into me.. Was, as Satz says, priceless.
There were a few moments, not so much cravings, but feelings of 'missing out'.. They passed. One day I was annoyingly entertaining thoughts of 'just the one, what's the point and I can start fresh when I get back', but i let this pass.

I packed a plan: stocked up on loads of soft drinks on day 1, committed to log on to
mWO every day no matter what and 2 of the 3 books I was reading had a back story about a female alcoholic (Try not to breathe, loved it)

Having an army of support when your feeling a bit wobbly is a massive safety net :heartbeat:

Now if yiz can assist me losing this half stone of icecream, I'd appreciate it!!
Not back to work until Monday, lazy few days left.

Good morning Army--Fabulous news Mary that reminded me so much of my first sober holiday. Especially the thought that if I gave in I could start again when I get home!
                        Well done--

                                Evening gang
Sorry been missing but mother is having some issues.
She was severely depressed and was prescribed Prozac - but I think they are causing her to lose her memory. Dates times etc - quite sudden.
                                Anyone any experience of this?
