haha, thanks Satz - oh I have moaned a lot in my head!
My friend lost the use of her body in a car accident, 20 years ago. Shes one of the most positive people I know. I have no right to moan really (although I still manage to!!)..
Hows your mam doing, did she stay on Prosaz?AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Never thought I'd see the day when Molls was posting this late
We didn't melt, lots of luvverly air-con and a brilliant production..............I'll give you a warble of my favourite bits tomorrow.
So glad you had a lovely day, Mers.
Got back from the theatre just after 10 and been sat in the garden with a couple of the neighbours............just had a ponder about how different this evening was to 15/20 years ago.
Then............prolly about 3 bottles of wine and at least 8 cans of beer.
Tonight. ...........One tea, one water, one can and a coffee. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Morning Mick and all those yet to arrive.
Much, much cooler today with rain expected.
A bloke we see every now and again came to the BBQ last week, bringing a bottle of rather good quality red wine..............plonks it in my hand and says 'this is for you ...........I know you like a good red'..............put a smile of my face and said 'J, haven't had a drink since about Mr JC's 50th..........so I'll give it to him'
His brain was obviously doing a few calculations and said 'That must be 5 years'.............'No, J' says I nearer 7'.............and the answer to that....says he......'good grief. that must mean Mr JC's 57 and so am I'..............odd conversation .It could be worse, I could be filing.

Afternoon..
Mick- that's exactly how I'm going to put it. Funny thing is, most people don't seem to notice, we are all caught up in ourselves. Except those I have told, cos I can't a avoid it, there are a few who obsess about it, which is interesting in itself..
JC - everyone must have known you as the party animal?? 3 bottles of wine and beer in the garden! Do people comment at all or did they at the beginning?
I mostly only drank at home, by myself (or with MrM). Yes I would have a few if we were entertaining, but it would be very measured and I would be watching supplies and the clock for them all to leave so I could get mangled in peace. V sad.
Even if we were at a wedding or a big night out, I would be fighting with myself, wanting more but can't appear too eager to too drunk, watching how quickly other people drink. All consuming really.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Evening from the house of chaos.
Settee and big chair delivered on time and by jolly nice delivery men. Chair's in the living room. Settee won't fit through the living room door and they're not allowed to take the doors off...........I could have done it I suppose but I was beyond tired and grumpy after a morning of rolling thunderstorms and lightening and a dog that was having a nervous breakdown on each rumble..........I'm beginning to understand 'free to good home' signs. Saying that some of the cracks of lightning were really scary. Anyway signed to say it would be fine, just leave it, himself can sort it.
I now have 2 chairs in the living room, a settee in the dining room, the dining table in the conservatory and a settee stood on its end at the bottom of the stairs and I've given up and handed the whole shebang to Mr JC.It could be worse, I could be filing.

That was just a weeknight.
The four houses (sounds like the title of a book) have always got on well, still do. When the kids were little and we had a glorious summer (1990) we were all a bit short of babysitters and short of cash. Just started one night when someone said to someone who said to someone who fancies a glass of wine or beer. Then we'd gather in each other's garden. Getting the cheapest beer and the cheapest wine and sitting in the garden seemed a a half decent social life.It went on for years but sadly my immediate neighbour and someone who became my best mate got breast cancer and died 2005......it was never really the same after that so stopped.
Funnily enough, remember my friend who I've know since we started infants school. I've told her all the nitty gritty about my drinking and all about you lovelies . We used to have some wild nights out and the weirdest thing she said was that I always seemed the most sober out of the both of us. Tbh I was full to the gills before I left the house............so I must have just been maintaining the buzz.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Thats sad about your Friend JC, I imagine that wasnt easy.
Yes, I would do that too, fill up before I left the house - then panic if I seemed too drunk, try to stay at everyone elces pace, then home to drink in peace. Not really 'enjoyment' is it..
Night folks, hope your having a blast Molly!AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Good morning from the multi-settee and chair house. Would you believe Mr JC & his mate got the settee through the living room door no problem...........but after they took the kitchen door & the dining room door off. Any way its installed, very comfy and the money's gone to a good cause.
We all miss her, she could be a right royal pain in the backside at times but she was funny and kind.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening army.
No JC, think I'm spending money like water this month! Does a new curtain rail count!!
I will get around to it, spending money comes very naturally to meFound my laptop and the foot is better, all is good in world Mary.
So did you throw out the old sofas, or had you space for more? Do they look fab???AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:

Why not a curtain rail? It's be a built in reminder every time you close the curtains of how you're doing.
Still got the old sofa and chair, they'll have to be taken away by the council or we'll have to chop them into bits and take them to the tip. Son and heir was round this aftie and he's going to ask if any of his mates want it.
Its not half bad this new stuff. Lovely plump cushions to put my lovely plump bottom on.Last edited by JackieClaire; July 21, 2016, 06:07 PM.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Great idea, curtain rail it is! Plus is for my bedroom so they are the first curtains I open every morning.
Do you have websites JC that you can offer furniture free to take away?
Our councils don't offer any such services anymore (although Molly might correct me on that, she knows them better!).AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:
