Wow. I was just thinking the other day ........ I wonder if there are any ppl on MWO that have a LONG history of quitting. Then this came up today! I cherish those who have stayed with this forum and are giving hope that overcoming is not only a dream - but a reality right here on this site. Thank you for posting - thank you Jackie for staying here to encourage us!!

I'll bet that last drink seems like a lifetime ago. No looking back, the future is as great as we create! Congrats and thanks.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

                        Big congrats on 7 Jackie!
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

For all your kind posts and cakes.

20/20.............nice to meet you. Yep there's a few of us long termers still about you'll have to seek us out but never ever be afraid to ask anyone of us a question.

I never dreamed I'd get to 7 years. To begin with I was more or less here 24/7. One of the side effects I had ........I didn't sleep (gave me more time for reading here though) but my sleep was properly restful. The first 30 days I must have lived like a hermit. We lived on lots of take outs as one of my 'gifts' from drinking was I was an excellent one handed cook....one hand always had a glass in it.....so anyone who wanted fed............they either made it themselves (my kids were 21 and 22) or out came a menu.
Minute by minute, hour by hour, day by day...........it works.
