IamMary has one year alcohol free today 19th July 2016

I'm sooooooooo happy to be able to start this thread for a woman who has listened, asked questions, made plans , and powered through an alcohol free holiday to get to this massive anniversary.

Be proud of yourself today, Mary, your day to shine.

It could be worse, I could be filing.

            Thank you!!. So much!!!
            I am thrilled to bits.
I always pictured myself free of the booze one day, but couldn't figure it out.. on my own.
Then I stumbled on MWO - I was scared to death on that first post, but many big wings took me in.

              :grouphugs: for Mary!
And it was my impression that the second year is easier Mary, it is still work, but a different kind of work.

              Bless you!

You've done it, Mary! There's not one day of the year that you "always drink". Breaking that cycle is such an accomplishment!
I found the second year to be great - a time to grow and at the same time settle into my new life. Hope you enjoy it, too!, NS

Thank you all so much for all the kind words. It really does make a difference when you know people are rooting for you. And more so that you all 'get it'.

Looking forward to year 2 now..:dancegirl: Off to sing along to 'Sober' with you now Nora.X

Good job Mary. I know you worked hard for this, and as NS says 2nd year is much more enjoyable.

                            Mary,
That first year has so many firsts, now you know you can handle it all. There maybbe occasional moments of difficulty, but it just keeps getting easier and life gets better.

My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Today you got to wake up knowing you have been sober for a year, tomorrow you get to wake up and start year two. That seems pretty damn awesome.Congratulations!
