        Morning luvvies,

You'll have to wait for the stories, I'm off to the doctors to see about a hearing test. I could always go to Boots or somewhere like that but have a feeling I'd be 'persuaded' to buy some hideously expensive hearing aid that I don't need.
It could be worse, I could be filing.

          Morning,
Glad I dont have the only muttering house! It appears to gets worse are they enter into the teenage years...
Theirs Molly, but Im kindof embracing it now (either that or be miserable). Ive a good boss, can work a bit from home, so will manage the juggle. If this was forced on me 18 months ago, Id be a basket case now - that I am 100% sure of - clear head and enough sober time under my belt, Im ready for the challenge - more responsibility too.

You will get more recognition for your work and WFH is a great perk and makes so much sense - take full advantage of it.

I sometimes think we subconsciously get selective not deaf or doddery as we get older. Some stuff is just not worth hearing or remembering.

                Evening lovelies,
I have Otitis media effusion commonly called glue ear. How the feck did I get to 29 and a huge half and then some and get glue ear. Got to pick up something tomorrow from the chemist that goes up my nose and clears it out..............Its making me shudder to think of it.

Hotter than Hades today. Just waiting for thunder. Got a spaced out labrador full of her calmy down pills for when it hits.

                  Back to yesterday.

The door slammer.............one of the few addicts who think the world owes them a living. Called in to see his worker..............no appointment. Said worker was in a meeting so he got stroppy when I said it would be near 12 when she came out. He had no appointment and I said I'd get her to ring him that day to make one ASAP. Got the big boss to reiterate................much stomping, effing and blinding followed then he he stalked out...he tugged at the door and went to slam it but unfortunately its one of those with a slow hinge................so it just takes its time.

The phone slammer..............not often we have 2 in one day or in a month but yesterday was the day..............rang to ask why his worker hadn't arrived to accompany him on an appointment..............looked him up and said his appointment was 26th..................yes says he.....todays the 26th............no its the 23rd..........again he says its the 26th............no its the 23rd ................the 26th is Friday.......................slam.

And the poor lassie, worried sick about her mum's drinking. Told her that her mum could refer herself (which luckily she's willing to do) one of the family can come with her on the first couple of appointments until she finds out we're not going to eat her. I just couldn't help thinking if my Jenny ever did that.

Glue ear!! Heard of that, must Google.. Not painful though??

Door slammers.. people are mad.. Well, we're all a bit bonkers and that's ok, but people who lack basic manners should be sent off to 'finishing' prison. The cheek of them!

Don't know if I really want to start climbing the ladder, but I'm ready for the challenge. Sort of.
I'll be in Molly's gang.. Bringing home the bacon

                          Morning all,

Well we've kept the sun for a second day in a row here... That probably constitutes a heat wave for Scotland!

we are alcoholics and when we quit support it's inevitable for many down the line -- it's a point I make quite often here -- I don't think a lot of peeps on mwo take the seriousness of this disease into account
God how true this is - and I can see it already. I've had days strung together when I've realised I've not been on MWO and the support here is so important. I've been musing elsewhere on here about why I would want a drink - and I really don't want one but that little voice is there in the background and one of the key things is being able to tap into your support network (here for me) and even just reading back, seeing the reasons why we are all here, is such a boost to the ability to say "NO" to the voice which is trying to get you to drink.

                            Molly

I've been there too, before I joined MWO in my previous "efforts" to quit.

I tried to voice this to my wife on one occasion and it was this very thing that made me realise that only an alcoholic can truly understand another alcoholic...

Before, when I "tried" to quit, the whole thing was I was quitting for a given time - probably a week usually, but the fact is that it WAS NOT a quit because I was just delaying the start of the next drinking session. I had actually PLANNED my relapse before I'd stopped drinking.... YES HOORAY someone else felt the same...thank you Molly... Maybe it is insanity but now it is SHARED insanity.

I'm glad I was not the only one who did this!

The initial thought that went through my head when I read this was that it wouldn't work for me for another reason... SHARE the bottle, NO NO NO - that bottle would be MINE all MINE I would never have willingly shared it!!!

Hello Army, great topic, yes only an alcoholic can understand an alcoholic, who can share a bottle? Who can just have one? Who can wait until 5 pm? People who aren't alcoholics! I miss the gang too I do see Starty on fb too,I wish she' d check in here too though I start caring about the peeps around the boards, maybe too much sometimes I think, hope everyone has a lovely day
I have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:

I'm taking care of the "tomorrow me"
Drinkin won't help a damn thing! Will only make me sick for DAYS and that ugly, spacey dumb feeling-no thanks!
