    3000. Days

    Hi All
I haven't been counting the days but happened to use the Sunday sober calculator a few weeks ago and saw I was coming up on this anniversary
Many ask at times what has happened to those that used to be here. I have continued on in life as a non drinker and am enjoying a quality life without al
Today I hit 3000 days sober. Not a drink in over 8 plus years. Nor a drug to alter my perception of life.
Drinking thoughts haven't entered my mind in years. This is after having an alcholic lifestyle for over 40 years.
I also know a few others that started recovery at the same time I did and they are also still sober, Rusty 576 , Katie1, Doggiegirl.
One thing we all have in common is many attempts at trying to get sober. Maybe there is someone out there that got sober there first try but I don' t know them. Me it took a few years and many tries but for what ever reason I was finally ready. If you have come to this site to get sober approach it as the hardest thing you will do in your life. It was for me.

Wow, 3000 is a lot of days, that's for sure. Thanks for checking in, it will inspire others.

The new life is grand, isn't it? Not perfect, but so much better than the old.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.
