Happy Wednesday everyone. I just got the weather alert on my phone that we are officially under a hurricane warning now. I'll spend this evening bringing everything inside (plants, patio furniture, anything else that can become a projectile) and doing anything that requires power (i.e. laundry). Conditions are forecast to start getting shitty tomorrow evening and stay that way for a little over 24 hours. Good thing I have a big fat Joe Hill (Stephen King's son) horror novel for when the lights go out. Hope everyone else is having a good day.First, a man takes a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes the man. --Chinese proverb

Hey all - Quick check in from work.
I did text with Mama a little bit. She is ok - in an unhappy place - not drinking. Just busy and down and everything that goes with it.Hugs Mama:hug:

A cheery hello from sunny and steamy hot St. Louis!
Aihfl and Mama...I am watching the weather channel..are you two planning on evacuating tomorrow? I have never experienced a hurricane, only a typhoon in Japan and tornadoes home in Wisconsin. The weather reporter giving his story from the Bahamas said flying coconuts are a huge problem with the high winds there. I can't imagine getting conked on the head with one although right now it reminds me of an episode from "Gilligan's Island."
Liz-loved the pic of sweet Lucy! She has such a kissable face. So glad the wedding plans are moving along.
Nora-I liked Glassy's idea of bullet points of what needs to change for you at work. If you sit down with the dad, I would include his daughter in that conversation so she doesn't feel like you're going behind her back.
Hi Skendall! How are you doing? When are you making the trip to Dallas?
Glassy-how is your back?
Big hellos to everyone else. I got two pairs of cute leather booties at the mall on the way to hotel, and stopped for lunch and now my food is rumbling around so I am going to just relax here and see if my stomach settles down.
I hope everyone is having a peaceful evening. :-)

Hey all, Mama and Aihfl, you two be careful down there with that storm coming! Looks scary on the news but the interviews with the locals they all seem to feel pretty safe,I'm totally tired and it's only 5:30 meh,had a titch of coffee hope it doesn't mess up my sleep too much, dentist right after work tomorrow, yikes, don't want to go but during my heavy drinking I never went so now there's a lot of work to doI think of all of those nights when I passed out without brushing my teeth and all of the alcohol sugar on my teeth and cringe, sickening, love you all, have a great night

Pauly, I hate the dentist! Hope not too much work needs to be done.
Rusty, two pairs of booties? I must admit. I'm not into the booties yet. I'm still wearing my flip flops. I have been in a few hurricanes. Most recently super storm Sandy. It was pretty scary. We were without power for 8 or 9 days. Thankfully our property didn't sustain any damage but getting around was virtually impossible with flooding, downed trees, wires etc. I am terrified Matthew will head this way. Hope you guys in Florida stay safe.
Nora, thanks for filling us in on Mama, I am worried about her.
Sweet dreams. . .

Good morning. Happy Thursday everyone. A beautiful day here on the east coast. Another day of wearing flip flops here. Watching the coverage of Matthew and it's really got me on edge. Stay safe down there guys.
So I have an appt today with a new therapist. I am a little nervous. Wish me luck. I will give it a try.
I'll check in with you all later.

Hey all, Liz,I'm over flip flops, I'm over summer, it was a boring and too allergy laden one for me so I'm enjoying the cooler weatherlet us know how the new therapist goes,I think therapy is great as long as you have a good one,I think I finally figured out why I hated mine,he was too close to my age and maybe I couldn't take him seriously or something, or maybe cuz he just stared at me after asking his dumb questions that I had no answer to, last night I was sad cuz I was watching Little women L.A and everyone on there is either pregnant or has new babies and I started weeping cuz last week when I was watching I still had hope about Kells baby
I told Glassy in an e-mail that it seems to come and go,mostly gone but there's spots,Nora,Mama isn't mad at any of us is she? I'm not trying to pry I just hope she's ok
I hate the dentist!!!! Feel like crying, I sit in that chair so antsy, then feel jittery driving home with a great big Kardashian lip I hate it! But I hafta go dammit, I've already rescheduled 3 times ,time to grow some balls! Much love to all and I hope we all have a wonderful Thursday

Good Thursday morning everyone! Yoga class took place as regularly scheduled this morning, so I got my exercise in for the day. I'm home now and have no plans to leave for at least 36 hours. The off-and-on rains started during the early morning hours. The sun is trying to peek out right now, but it's not going to last. The storm is now predicted to make landfall (the original forecast had the center staying out over the ocean) so we can expect even higher winds. I live inland, so I'm going to stay put. My downstairs neighbor left though, and one of my friends from spin class at the gym left for her brother's in Tampa. Have a good day everyone.First, a man takes a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes the man. --Chinese proverb

Rusty, I lived on Okinawa for a couple of years right out of college working in the International Exchange Division of the Okinawa Prefectural Government. I remember one of my Okinawan colleagues coming in as a typhoon was bearing down and saying, "Everyone loves a typhoon! Adults love it because they don't have to go to work, children love it because they don't have to go to school, even the fish in the ocean love it because no one's out fishing!" I remember during one typhoon I was at an ex girlfriend's home when the lights went out, so the entire family piled in the minivan and went out in the typhoon and went to the bowling alley, which was so packed that we had to wait a long time for a lane to open. That is definitely not the case here. We have a break in the rain for right now. Not windy yet but it's coming...First, a man takes a drink, then the drink takes a drink, then the drink takes the man. --Chinese proverb

The dentist ended up pulling my wisdom tooth out and even though I'm still numb the pain is starting to peek through, grrr, the last one pulled didn't hurt at all, I had drinking thoughts at work, where is that coming from? I'm glad I had the dentist as a distraction cuz it was one of the eff it kinda thoughts, so weird cuz it's not what I want,I know how sick I get,I think I'm eating too much sugar and it's triggery or somethingI have too much shit to do today and tomorrow to drink:sohappy:
