Sorry Liz! That is rotten that you got yelled at & had to deal with it instead of your boss!! It is getting cooler here this week. I'm sure this doesn't seem cold to many of you but we are getting temps down in the 50's at night. Only been in the 70's during the day. We are hoping for more rain this weekend.

I'm at work for less than half an hour & it's already been stressful. So, I'm taking a happy break.

NS - I didn't get a chance to listen to my book yet. By the time I had a chance, I knew I would fall asleep immediately. So, tonight I will give it a shot.

I guess we are all set for Halloween. This was always a fun time for us. We love to see the kids dressed up. We have sat out front before with our dry ice and I was in a witches costume. Fun times.

Ok - now that I'm happy, I'll go back to work...................

I thought of you because the part I just listened to, toward the middle, concerns taking care of a dementia patient. From what I've read in your posts, I think you do exactly what this nurse suggests - you give your mom a comfortable feeling. And deep down, that's what we all really want.

I ordered a relo cube and what did they deliver? A full size trailer! I have to load it far away from apt. in the hard rain.

Been busy all day so that is good. It got better after my happy break this morning. Only 2 more hours before I head home.

NS - Thanks for the kind words regarding my Mom. Yesterday she was feeling well enough that I was able to help her bathe. It's not easy setting everything up in the bedroom.......my different bowls of water, etc. But, we had so many giggles. We had a fun time. I wish that I had that much patience with everyone in my life.

Nora, is your mom not able to bathe in the shower or tub? My coworker Ann bathes her dad with her moms help. He is pretty much paralyzed with neuropathy. It's difficult for them to manage. I'm glad that you and your mom have fun with it. Glad you got a happy break at work today. I was able to enjoy an entire hour today as well. It was sunny and cold outside, but I so enjoyed my walk outside.
We had a patient come in with a service dog today. Never seen or even heard anything like it. This dog is a king cavalier I think she called him and has a very keen sense of smell. Her and her husband are diabetics. This dog can smell when they're sugar is too high or too low and alerts them. Just the sweetest dog. She brightened up our entire unit for the two hours she was there. Anyway, that made my day.

I'm home. Nice that you had the service dog visitor today, :welldone:
I have been helping mom freshen up in the bedroom for about 6 months. She seemed to have problems every time we did it in the bathroom. Ended up having to call 911 twice because she passed out. I just get my pails and we do it right on the bed. Works well.

Happy Thursday morning! Snow in the forecast for today, ugh! Good day to stay in and clean. Dreading my visit with the therapist, I fear we have run out of things to talk about. Really, this should be up to me? Maybe another cup of coffee will help my mood.

Quick check in from my lunch break. Teensy bit of snow and you'd think people forgot we live in New York! Haha
I made a cake last night. My craving for food and sweets is off the charts. I'm just going with it for now.
I'm eating every few hours and making sure I don't get hungry or thirsty.
Lizann that's great about the service dog. They are wonderful aren't they?
Nora, hugs to you and your mom. Bed bath is the safest bet now. I wish I could help!
