Ok, so sometimes I have a hard time following some of the words or phrases y'all use on the other side of the pond and it takes me a few "tries" at reading to figure out what is meant (and mind you, I am NOT complaining, at ALL!!! I adore and plan on adopting some of the cute words you use - like "settee" and "tin of soup"! LOVE these!!! ) But! The one that is really, REALLY putting a smile on my face today is the phrase "straighten the line on the Christmas cake". Good LORD is that an adorable way of saying "Not that I WANT more cake but for goodness sake, I am nothing if not a kind soul who is trying to make the cake prettier for whomever lifts the lid after me!". )
And, in that spirit, I think I shall go straighten the line of the cookies so they are perfectly placed on the pretty platter instead of having ONE extra on the right side...

Hi old friends! I was thinking about you all over this Christmas period so lurked a bit and found the same humour and heartfelt posts that I remember. I hope all you beautiful people are doing well, it sure sounds like it. Stay awesome! Xx'Breakfast, every hour, it could save the world.' Tori Amos

Morning all and welcome SoCali and Cassia! Cassia I dont think we have met before? I was here in 2010 and a couple of years before that but was away for a time.
Lovely day had yesterday. Went for a long walk with a group of friends and their doggers 7 in all and it was a gorgeous sunny winter day. Feeling so blessed. I can honestly say this is the best Christmas I have had I think! Back to work today and already feeling the stress about the colleague that is causing the issues. Trying to keep a lid on it but worrying all the same. Oh well, it has to be dealt with.
Hope all have a cracking day today

Morning,
Its Cassie, who went to the USA and her husband followed. Am I right or wrong. Lovely to see you hun.
Never heard the 'straighten the line on the Christmas cake' before either, SoCal.............Describes it perfectly, I was doing with a cheese cake for a lot of yesterday.
Going into work for a couple of hours. Just a bit of telephone answering.
Get a bit of peace and quiet this aftie as Mr JC's in going into his office. They're closed over Christmas so him and the boss go through some of those files that usually make them want to bash their heads off the wall.It could be worse, I could be filing.

JC - yes that's right. We moved to the East Coast from Scotland but have moved again and on the West Coast.
It's been great reading through this last month of the Army thread. I can't tell you all how much being a part of this thread kept me sober and sane during the first few months in late 2010 and then all my subsequent adventures. I have kept that strength with me and that is in large part down to all of you. I just wanted you all to know that. 2016 has been a pretty shite year and I will be glad to see the back of it. It's nice to reconnect going into 2017.
Off to the gym I go. I have effectively replaced boozing with exercise...you think it would show in my waist line after six years! Must have been kicking the fags that stopped the weight loss'Breakfast, every hour, it could save the world.' Tori Amos

Happy New Year, Army!
Cassia! Great to see you! I don't know if you remember me, but I was with you on the Monthly Abs Thread. We exchanged PMs a couple of times. Congratulations on all your AF years! WOW!! That is fantastic! I cannot believe it's been 6 years...where did the time go?? Hope you are enjoying the West Coast!

Don't know if you remember the lady from my work that was in the bad traffic accident and was doing well. I'm afraid to say she developed a blood clot on the brain and died peacefully Christmas Eve. Fucking, fuckity fuck, fuck. Glad I got that out.It could be worse, I could be filing.

Evening part 2.
At work today one of the lads brought in his 3 week old grandson and he smiled at me and I melted. That baby doesn't realise how many he smiles he brought to the office this morning.
Cass, I follow your adventures on FB.
Waves to Rustyredlocks.
Were you busy at work, Molls? Quiet as anything at my place. Ended up polishing the desks. It could be worse, I could be filing.

Thinking of flying in tomorrow. Arnotts vouchers. My only problem is my complete inability to get out of bed before 10. I may not be able to work again if this persists.AF - July 19th 2015 :happy2:
