Mario et al - are you watching Sugar Free Farm thats on tv right now?One day at a time - this is enough. Do not look back and grieve over the past for it is gone; and do not be troubled about the future, for it has yet to come. Live in the present, and make it so beautiful it will be worth remembering...

JC I brought all the sweetie stuff left over from Chrimbo and left them in the kitchen in work, mostly scoffed by the gannets I work with by now haha.
Just back from a 1 1/2 hour Thai deep tissue massage I treated myself to, paid with by the money I would have poured down my throat the past week or so. Gonna eat some food now and I think a long soak in the bath is on the cards.

Nope Maddie decided a while back that - unlike with alcohol or cigarettes both of which I am HOPELESSLY addicted to - I don't have either a food or sugar addiction in any way shape or form -- yes I like sweet things - and yes I sometimes eat a bit more than I should - but d'ya know what -- it doesn't bother me - I feel mostly very healthy and strong , I'm not overweight and 'a little of what I fancy does me good' ;-) hats off to anyone who goes sugar free completely - but no -- not for me -- not now anyway -and prolly never!!
However with alcohol - I KNOW I'm addicted and the changes in the dopamine receptors ( only learned this the other day) in my brain will mean I can never have another drink again or risk being back exactly where I was - maybe worse.
Sugar - I don't know. I think possibly I am. I eat in secret. I hide sweet stuff - I can't stop when I start ........ all the things I did with alcohol I am now doing with sugar. Feck !!

Evening..
Poor you Starty.. half way through the week, more or less..
Im prob with Molly on the sugar. Crave a bit when Im hungry. Prob do eat it in secret cos Im hiding from the kids!
Cigarettes, took ages getting off them, then got addicted to the nicorette chewing gum, would eat a pack in 1 go.
Had a 3 year obsession with Triple X mints in college, that was weird.

morning you lovely lot. Thanks so much for the support. I think I know it will pass, just when you're in it it doesnt feel that way too much. However I KNOW that I have a horrible bug that is most likely making me feel the shitest mentally.
With you on the sugar satzy I think it is possibly an issue at times. I would like to be able to quit it easily but now is not quite the right time Plus I have lost so much weight recently I look like a haggard ole witch
The colleague who is in trouble is trying to manipulate me in a very clever way. That is half his problem he is very bright but completely weird in many ways that I just dont think he is suited to the disciplines of office work and he needs to sort himself out. I am getting huge support from many people too which does help.
Jax I think it is a great idea to push yourself a bit in your service. Feeling useful and needed is key to making us feel good about ourselves I reckon

That's good Mario, it's a great to have you here posting daily.
I like that, addicted to sobriety, I honestly think I am on that road and I can't tell you how happy, grateful and relieved it makes me feel. I know I have said it before but this time my quit is completely different. When you know it you just know, if you get my drift.Ethanol is a toxic chemical, why would I drink it?
