I am grateful to decent folk like Ab cowboy for starting this thread, and for the fact that such diverse people share thoughts and stories i relate to as if it were me.

I am grateful that I know I won't try to escape the events of today or numb my feelings about them by drinking.

I agree with you NS. Not a happy day for our country, from my perspective.

Tonight I'm grateful for the friends I've made here on MWO and for sticking by my side through all kinds of bs, y'all really do help me to stay sober...
Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Today I am grateful that I overcame my social anxiety and went to a women's march. It was absolutely glorious, and so uplifting.

Tonight I'm grateful for a nice dinner out with Bubba and our son and daughter-in-law, and not being jealous of all the people around us who were enjoying their dinner drinks. My iced tea went along great with my steak and scallops!
