Re: Express your Gratitude

Cowboy: seeds! New life! We are taking a trip next week, but before I go I will put my warm-start seeds in their pots with labels. Then I can just water them they day we get home I usually start warm season plants the last week in March. I don't have a greenhouse, but the sunny window in the garage works pretty well. I bought an enclosure where I can put them at night with a heat lamp, that I am setting up in the garage.

Last summer when I tried to quit I signed up for the Hip Sobriety school. Sadly, on vaca again I chucked it all out the window! Then, I was too embarrassed to jump back in so I just let it slide.
Today I am thankful that HS is so amazing that they allow you to access the course materials during the future courses! And, the founder improves the course each round so the course is just that much better! There are weekly videos, mantras etc.

I really enjoy planting tomatoes, long English cucumbers, and flowers Sunbeam. It sounds to me like you got everything in order to get an early start on the growing season. Amazing what we can come up with to do the things we love to do!

This year I think we're going to put in some potatoes and maybe pickling cucumbers in the new garden area that I worked up a couple of years ago. The greenhouse is more of a solarium, with just the outside left to dirt on 3 sides. 3 or 4 years back, the tomatoes and cucumbers inside started to turn yellow and die and each year it steadily got worse. I figured it was spider mites causing the problem, but last year I finally talked to our local agronomist to see if I was missing something. Turns out it wasn't spider mites at all, the soil is contaminated with Fusarium wilt, quite common up here he said. So I have to cover the beds with black poly and leave them till next year. The heat under the black poly will take care of the Fusarium, so it looks like it's be container gardening inside for me this year!

And so with that, I'm grateful for the local agronomists and the wealth of free advice they give...

It's 6.50 here in Ireland. The wind is howling - it is 2 degrees - raining and I'm nice and cosy here in bed.

I'm grateful today for my house & heating & my bed

EDIT:
And a sober head to appreciate it with !!

Tonight I'm grateful that we have a snowblower! Even though I enjoy the exercise I get from shovelling, my back and the shovel won't cut it with the downfall we got today!

Grateful for my faith which has grown stronger over these last years and has helped me on this journey. Raised Catholic, fell away for 40+ years, then returned. It's the deeper spiritual journey that has helped me along my way.
