I'm grateful for rocks and minerals. My little granddaughter so enjoys collecting them!

I'm also grateful for the "restore auto-saved content" button, Forum Manager! I wrote the above yesterday but must've forgot to hit the post button!:happy2:

Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!

If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

I am truly grateful that I never hurt myself or another person while drinking.
I think back and it was a real possibility that something very bad could have happened.

dill Wonderful!....Both my grandma's collected rocks, one collected seashells to. They passed it on to me (their granddaughter). I'm passing it on to my daughter's. Maybe one day it will be passed on to grand children. Really love rocks, minerals, fossils and seashells. They bring a simple joy.

I'm grateful for renewable energy.

Wildflowers, one of my favorite stones is amethyst. AKA the "sober stone"! While I am not one who buys into meanings and uses of crystals on a serious level, I Do find the history of crystals fascinating. I got this piece of info on amethyst:

"The name amethyst derives from the ancient Greek word amethustos, meaning sober. It was said that an amethyst could prevent the bearer from becoming excessively drunk and also instills a sober and serious mind. It was believed that if a person drank from a cup or goblet made entirely of amethyst, he or she would not get drunk at all. In Greek mythology, amethyst was rock crystal dyed purple by the tears of Dionysus, the god of wine and revelry. Ancient Egyptians used the stone as the representative of the zodiac sign of the goat. The goat was considered the enemy of vines and vineyards, and therefore the antidote of wine."

from the website Amethyst Meaning, Powers and History .

Today I am grateful for the mighty oak tree.

dill, I was born in February and amethyst is my stone but it didn't keep me from getting drunk back in the day! LOL. Thanks for the history lesson. LOVED IT.

Today, I am grateful for a sunny, warm day and the love of my family and close friends.

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.
