I'm grateful I was able to help a friend today. I'm grateful for Advil and ice packs.

ssd858 Your welcome. Don't feel like I was much of a help. There's so much more to the subject. If you want we can further discuss it here or another thread if you like. Anytime any of us needs extra support during these Paws times. It's good to talk about them. To find ways in managing them. Have seen it derail people. Including myself. Think it's OK to talk about anything here. I'm really happy your here to. ositive: Think everyone here at MWO is caring and helpful. Your one of those nice people ssd858.

PanhandleKim Yes, its also a very fun and exciting time!... Sorry if I'm sometimes too much of a Mother hen. Lol. Think I'm basing on my own experiences and observations of parents (esp. Mom's). It's hard sometimes to find time for ourselves. Reflecting back, wished I'd made more me time. Yet, there are those certain periods in our lives, that require so much of our attention for others, that it can seem impossible to just breath. Not sure if I'm making sense. Need to get to bed. Eyes and brain are fuzzy. I like idefineme mentioning being grateful for a nice bed.

Hope everyone receives peaceful sleep. :fairy:

My hands are full just trying to be sober. I am in awe of those tackling nicotine! I am also grateful that I never picked it up.

I will be forever grateful that I was able to give up the nicotine 17 yrs ago. I did not have an alcohol problem then, it came several years later. Sending lots of strength to those trying trying to abandon any addiction. I am now working on food and shopping - is there ever an end for us that are addicts to addiction

aww, come on dill, you're not giving yourself enough credit, this is going to be your quit that sticks!!

I'm grateful for a beautiful day and being able to spend it sober, doing something I love to do!

Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Ramey Really happy for you on quitting nicotine! That's a good long time to be free!.. Think some of us develop other addictions later in life and some are more prone early in life from genetics and other factors. I know what you mean about the shopping, chocolate.. Sometimes I feel like I can't make a decision as there are to many options. Tho, think it's good to reward ourselves in some way. Where to draw that line?

dill Thankful you didn't ever pick up nicotine addiction. I'm freakin myself out and haven't stopped. I will use all my AF skills to make this happen. Hope I don't eat us out of house and home.. I'll fill myself full of smoothies, until I bloat-float away. I agree with cowboy. Your doing really well! How about a treat, a small reward of some type? Is there anything on your mind that we can help you with? I often stay centered by remaining in this moment, this day. Use meditation. Have a quit smoking app. Self hypnosis. Don't care for. May look elsewhere.

Hope everyone receives peaceful sleep. :fairy:

I am grateful for the rain shower tonight...

Wildflowers, I am grateful for your "mother henning" - my mom passed away back in '91 when I was 23 years old, so it feels rather nice!

Goodnight to all-

I'm grateful for easy start packaging tape. Grateful for whoever invented this. Cause the old type use to drive me bonkers. :yikes1:

Still a bit bonkers. Lol

PanhandleKim Dear Kim, I'm so very sorry you lost your Mom at such a young age! I will always feel a dark hole inside of me, from losing my dear Mom. Like something is missing. Think it's good, we can in a way help each other by being "Mother Hen's" to one another. I'm glad I didn't overstep. Hope you day is smooth.

I'm grateful for this thread. I know I have said that before, but it is true. It's nice to be with birds of a feather! All headed in the same direction.

Wildflowers, I have a full plate right now, that's all. It takes a lot of energy just to get thru the days with two young grandchildren here. I was happily retired, footloose and fancy-free, making travel plans, etc., and now I'm back to having to make regular meals, clean up after children, do laundry and just generally do the things I thought were in the rearview. You might think I would be too busy to drink and you would be correct. But the desire for escape is very strong right now and that is what I am battling. I am doing the best I can. I log in, make my pledge and for the most part, I keep it. I haven't been 100%, but I am not giving up!

I'm grateful for another AF day today.
