Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

                stay warm, cowboy!

I am thankful for such old friends that you can always default to yourself and not have to worry about a thing.

                    Re: Express your Gratitude

I am grateful for gratitude. I know that’s redundant, but until I quit drinking, I wasn’t as grateful for all that I have in life. So yes, I’m grateful that I’m done drinking, but I’m even more grateful that I notice and appreciate my life, especially the small things.
My life is better without alcohol, since 9/1/12. My sobriety tool is the list at permalink 236 on the toolbox thread under monthly abstinance.

Tonight I am grateful for our trusty dog, Tessa. She is faithful and loyal and much smarter than she looks! LOL! I'm grateful for all the dogs who have given us their love and companionship over the years. I just wish dogs had longer life spans!

I am grateful that my 90 year- old mother handled her transition into an assisted-living facility so cheerfully and gracefully. I am grateful that my sobriety made me a reliable resource for her, as I helped her pack, made her meals, and helped her out with numerous tasks. I am grateful that she threw her arms around me and told me she wouldn't know what she would do without me. When I was drinking at my worst, when she would hug me, she would look at me with such sad and worried eyes. Sobriety is truly a gift.
