I'm grateful for my continued sobriety...Quitting and staying quit isn't easy, its learning a whole new way of thinking. It's accepting a new way of life, and not just accepting it, embracing it...
Worry about tomorrow, tomorrow. Just get through today. Tomorrow will look after itself when it becomes today, because today is all we have to think about.
Friendship is not about how many friends you have or who you've known the longest. It's about who walked into your life, said "I'm here for you", and proved it.

Re: Express your Gratitude
I am grateful to have had you all help me through one of the worst nights of my life. I made it through sober. Now to concentrate on making through today sober. So far no urges or cravings but that may change later. When and if it does I will not be drinking.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

Re: Express your Gratitude
I'm grateful that you got thru last night sober too, Alison. I know it was a struggle for you, so well done!
Well, satz123, I believe I was the one who said, "this too will pass", LOL (Well, me and a few million others...) I'm a smart little cookie, aren't I! I just wish we could make some things pass a little faster than they do. I pray that you have the grace and strength you need to get thru these next few months. As for you son, miracles happen you know. I mean, look at yourself! You got sober. Let's hope he figures this thing out for himself soon. Who said, "Never, never, never give up!"? Dont forget, you can: start late, start over, be unsure, try and fail AND STILL SUCCEED!
If it is important to you, you will find a way. If not, you will find an excuse.

Re: Express your Gratitude
I'm grateful that there is no major drama in my life at the moment. satz123 I'm so sorry for what you are going through right now, and wish that I could reach out across the miles and give you a big hug! Guess that this will have to do at the moment! :huggies:

Re: Express your Gratitude
I am grateful to have had a sober weekend.
I feel better about myself. I just need to get through the grieving process for the 2 cats that we lost recently and then should be fine. I just need to make sure that I keep saying no to AL and yes to the AF life.I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.
Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.
Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

I'm grateful for the double dark chocolates I get from our local bulk food store. I'm also grateful that we have a local bulk food store! It's tough for businesses to make a go of it in this small, rural farming town.Dill

Re: Express your Gratitude
I'm grateful for the REAL free range eggs I get from a local farm. Feathers & muck still on the shells.
I LOVE eggs - anyway , anytime.
Now here is some light reading about eggs - in case it ever comes up in a quiz ........ :haha:
Bird eggs have been valuable foodstuffs since prehistory, in both hunting societies and more recent cultures where birds were domesticated.
The chicken probably was domesticated for its eggs (from jungle fowl native to tropical and subtropical Southeast Asia and India) before 7500 BCE.
Chickens were brought to Sumer and Egypt by 1500 BCE, and arrived in Greece around 800 BCE, where the quail had been the primary source of eggs.
The Romans crushed the shells in their plates to prevent evil spirits from hiding there.
In the Middle Ages, eggs were forbidden during Lent because of their richness.
The word mayonnaise possibly was derived from moyeu, the medieval French word for the yolk, meaning center
