    damm body

    Hi,

I know what your saying, I spent years drinking into the night to pass out and wake up in the early hours to have another drink/s to get back to sleep, then get up in the morning and have a 'heart starter' then continue through the day. I'm glad those days are now becoming a distant memory, I still have a problem, but it's getting more manageable and for a while now, have been able to keep it mostly under control. Still working on it, but the 'days' have now become a couple of nights a week, don't beat yourself up, just work on small improvements, and after a while you'll realise just how big the improvements are.

    Lot's of Love, Jas
    :thanks: :h

Hi Rachel..dont panic..the good news ids the liver function will improve when you cut back on the booze...when i,ve had routine blood tests i used to squirm wondering if i would get an abnormal liver test result!!

Also regarding the memory...a common alcohol related problem from what i,ve read on here..anything from not rembering the end of a film to total blackouts.
The memory problems makes me feel uncomfortable as i know its in my case self induced .i hate it when people recall important events with clarity and i struggle to recall hardly any thing.

The good news is since cutting the booze way back the memory seems improved (though obviously there arent any miracles to recall the blanks from heavy drinking days!)

i try and eat fruit and vegetables and exercise by walking ..that way i know i am giving my body the best chance to recover HOPEFULLY. After a month or two of this regime i looked better , slept better, felt at peace and like to fondly imagine my brain enjoying the benefits particularly my memory box!

dont be hard on yourself Rachel...hope the liver test is ok but dont use that as a reason to drink..see it as a lucky break to get mind and body in shape.

hope the boyfriend is supportive as that will really help when changes are needed..good luck and well done for seeking help..it takes guts!!

      regards Cassy

Hi Rachel, you made me laugh by saying that you always found 'drinking time', that is so true. The hours and nights/days we all have wasted in 'drinking time', really makes you think eh. Well done on your achievements so far, you are doing great. Look forward to hearing your progress.
